About me and my therapy practice
“Don’t believe what your eyes are telling you. All they show is limitation. Look with your understanding, find out what you already know, and you’ll see the way to fly.” - Richard Bach, Jonathan Livingston Seagull
I am an integrative child counsellor, offering therapeutic support both in private practice and within a school setting. I work creatively and draw on a range of modalities to allow the child to explore in a way that feels safe and natural for them.
Seeing children thrive and connect with their true selves is what motivates me. The unfolding of each person's uniqueness forms the foundation of my therapeutic approach.
It is my belief that children have within them an innate capacity for change and growth and a natural drive to strive towards their fullest potential. I bring a sensitivity, warmth and playfulness to the therapeutic relationship where children can express themselves, build confidence and feel safe to explore their inner world and access those parts which were hidden or too painful for them to address.
In today’s world, children face a range of challenges that can lead to confusion, internal conflict, and emotional distress. Whether it's the pressure of school, difficulties with peer relationships, loss of a loved one or family separation, these experiences can cause worry, stress, and even a sense of isolation.
It can show up in different ways — a child may become withdrawn, unusually tearful, or quick to anger. These emotional responses are signals that something deeper may be going on, and they deserve our attention.
Being seen, heard, and understood can help children to rediscover their strengths and move towards building resilience and living more fully as themselves.
Practice description
My practice is grounded in understanding child development, attachment theories, neuroscience and psychoanalytic principles. At heart, I am person-centred, placing the relationship at the core of the therapeutic process.
During sessions I incorporate a range of creative and playful materials including sand, arts and crafts and games to support a child’s self expression. Engaging in creative activities is a valuable way for children to explore their identity which helps them to learn about themselves and how they relate to others and the world around them.
My first session
I offer a free 30-minute consultation by phone or Zoom, giving parents and carers the chance to share their child’s needs and any concerns. I will then complete a brief assessment to understand your child’s difficulties and what may be influencing them. When you and your child feel ready, we can begin weekly 50-minute in person sessions at £80 each.
