About me and my therapy practice
I’m a BACP-registered psychotherapeutic counsellor. I offer a steady, supportive presence to help you make sense of what’s going on for you, without judgement or preconception. All of you is welcome.
People come to therapy for many reasons. You might be feeling anxious or a bit low, having difficulties at work or in a relationship. You may simply have a sense that something isn’t quite right.
Talking things through can help create a bit of distance from experiences that may feel frightening, depressing, or restrictive. As we talk, things will start to be clearer, and ways forward may begin to appear.
Slowing things down.
In our day to day lives we’re often moving fast. We worry about the future or regret the past. When we slow down and notice what’s going on in the here and now, things often start to shift. You may notice recurring thoughts such as regrets, worries, or a sense of unease. Or you might feel very little at first. That’s okay too. We’ll stay close to whatever is present for you in the moment.
Noticing the whole of you.
When we come to therapy we often focus on what’s going on in our heads, but our bodies are trying to tell us something as well. You might notice a tight chest, shallow breathing, or restless hands. These experiences aren’t separate from you; they’re part of how you make sense of the world. We’ll pay attention to them too.
Noticing patterns together.
What happens between us in therapy can offer clues about your wider life. You might notice yourself holding back, trying to please, or worrying about being judged. Or you may feel more at ease in our sessions than elsewhere. These moments can help us understand how you relate to others, and where change may be possible.
The next step.
If this sounds like the kind of support you’re looking for, you’re welcome to get in touch by email, phone, text, or WhatsApp to arrange a free 20-minute consultation. I’ll respond within 24 hours, Monday to Friday.
