About me and my therapy practice
After a career as a combat medic in the Special Forces, I retrained as a clinical sports therapist and later as a Humanistic therapist. These experiences that included working in high-pressure military environments to supporting athletes and other people from all walks of life, have given me a deep understanding of how trauma, anxiety and stress affect both the body and the mind.
My work is grounded in the belief that healing begins with safety, empathy and curiosity. I offer a warm, respectful therapeutic space where you can reflect, make sense of your experiences and begin to reconnect with yourself. I often work with people who are dealing with trauma, anxiety, burnout, relationship difficulties, or a sense of being stuck and unsure of how to move forward.
Practice description
I draw on a range of approaches, including Gestalt, Person-Centred, Transactional Analysis and occasionally, I also incorporate Creative Arts Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, integrating these thoughtfully to meet your individual needs. We might focus on exploring how past experiences influence your present, noticing how your body holds tension or emotion, or developing new ways to respond to stress.
When it feels right, I will gently challenge patterns that no longer serve you and offer practical strategies or reflections to explore between sessions. My aim is not to “fix” you, but to help you access your own inner wisdom and resilience so that lasting change becomes possible.
I see therapy as a collaborative process and one that is built on trust, openness and mutual respect. You set the pace, and your feedback shapes our work together.
Alongside my private practice, I also volunteer with One in Four, a low-cost counselling service supporting adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. This work continues to deepen my understanding of trauma and resilience and informs the compassion I bring to all my clients.
Whether you’re facing a specific struggle or simply want to understand yourself better, I offer a space where you can be heard, seen and supported in finding your own way forward.
My first session
I offer a free 30‑minute face‑to‑face consultation so we can meet and see whether working together feels right for you. This is an opportunity for you to ask any questions about how I work, get a sense of who I am, and talk a little about what you’re looking for and what you need from therapy.
The consultation is informal and there’s no pressure or commitment, it’s simply a chance to explore whether this feels like a good fit.
