About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Jess. I'm a friendly and down-to-earth therapist helping people untangle feelings and experiences that have started to pile up.
Whether you’re feeling weighed down by hopelessness, drained from battling something you know needs attention, or finding it hard to see your own worth, I’m here to help. I work with relationship issues, depression, anxiety, and those deep dives into past experiences that can still affect you today.
In our sessions, we might spend time considering the beliefs that have shaped you, or identifying patterns that are becoming difficult to manage. There’s no threshold you have to meet to seek support. You don’t need a specific reason to begin. If something is on your mind, this can be a space to slow down and take stock - a calm and thoughtful dialogue that supports you in making sense of your inner world.
Practice description
We’ll have a relaxed, honest chat, and you can come weekly if that works for you. Whether you’re stressed, feeling low, or anxious, I’m here to help you feel a bit lighter and less tangled up.
I have a specialist interest in helping people with:
- Feeling tense and ‘on edge’ for much of the time
- Getting stuck in overthinking and ending up exhausted - sometimes a little, sometimes completely.
- A nagging suspicion there’s something from your past that needs to be ‘worked’ through
- An – almost undetectable – inner voice that tells you ‘I’m not good enough’ or ‘I don’t deserve good things’
- Wanting someone neutral to talk things through with - someone who isn’t emotionally involved or carrying the well-intentioned opinions that family and friends often have.
It’s okay if you’re not sure where to start or what to say. You can take things at your own pace. I’m engaged and responsive in our sessions - I won’t just sit back and nod but will be right there with you in the conversation.
My first session
My practice is shaped by my own experiences, my training in relational integrative psychotherapy, and my interest in psychology, philosophy, and understanding yourself better. I aim to understand what life is like for you, asking gentle questions or sharing reflections to help you explore your experiences and get to know yourself better.
Sometimes I may offer a different perspective, drawing on various therapeutic approaches. I’ll regularly check in to make sure the therapy feels right for you, and above all, I’ll listen with kindness, welcoming every part of who you are.
I also have experience providing counselling in an NHS GP surgery, supporting adults with anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, and relationship challenges.
I offer an inclusive, affirming space for people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and neurotypes. You can also book a free 15-minute phone or video chat to see if I’m the right therapist for you - no pressure and no commitment.
