About me and my therapy practice

I’m Ayndrilla (An-drill-ah, she/her), a humanistic psychotherapeutic counsellor of South Asian descent and a member of the BACP offering sessions in Brighton & Hove and online. My aim is to provide a safe, comfortable and culturally-sensitive space where you can bring whatever is on your mind, without judgement. I will be alongside you as we try to make sense of some of the challenges that come with being human and in doing so, find a deeper sense of balance.

I have over ten years’ experience in the charity sector working with women experiencing domestic and gender-based violence. My areas of specialism include anxiety, illness, post-natal depression, so-called ‘Honour-based’ violence and parenting. I have an understanding of how it can feel to live between cultures and to search for a sense of belonging. When you are caught between different worlds, it can be even harder to figure out what you really want, who you authentically are. You might feel trapped by expectations, which feel impossible to overcome. It can sometimes be difficult to explain this to others who have not experienced how paralysing expectations can be.

My counselling approach is humanistic, which for me means I follow your lead and believe you know yourself better than anyone. My approach is also trauma-informed so I understand the nature of trauma and its far-reaching impact. I will always work with you to create a sense of safety.

I stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community and welcome clients of all sexual identities. I strive to work in a way that is compassionate and anti-oppression.
