About me and my therapy practice

I’m Daniela Weetman, a BACP-registered Humanistic Integrative Counsellor offering online therapy across the UK and Europe. I work with adults and young people who are finding their way through anxiety, grief and loss, overwhelm, life transitions, identity shifts or relationship difficulties — sometimes alongside the experience of living away from home or between cultures. My approach is warm, steady and gently attuned, and therapy is a space where we can explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace. If you’re curious about whether we might be a good fit, I offer a free 30-minute introductory call.

Many of the people I work with describe feeling torn between who they are and who they’ve had to be.  People who feel in-between — between cultures, roles, identities or versions of themselves — and who are trying to find a sense of home inside again. Therapy gives us space to understand that difference with compassion. Rather than trying to “fix” you, I’m interested in how your feelings and patterns once made sense — and in supporting you as you gently update them at your own pace.

Therapy can be a space to lay things down for a while — to notice what hurts, what protects you, and what still wants to grow. I believe therapy isn’t about performing or getting it “right”; it’s a real, human relationship where you can show up as you are, even on the difficult days. My intention is to offer a steady, attuned space where you don’t have to hold everything together — where your feelings can be heard and understood, not judged or rushed.

Practice description

Online sessions take place via secure video, offering flexibility if you travel, live abroad, or prefer the privacy and comfort of your own space. My approach is humanistic and integrative, drawing from Person-Centred, Gestalt, Existential and parts-informed ways of working. We stay curious about what you’re experiencing now, while also considering how old emotional patterns may have developed to help you cope or stay connected earlier in life.

This way of working supports greater awareness, compassion and choice, rather than self-criticism or pressure to change quickly. Many people find online therapy especially helpful when they are navigating identity, belonging, transitions, distance or feelings of being “between worlds”.

Sessions are usually weekly, either short-term or longer-term depending on your needs. We review together so the work remains supportive and meaningful to you.

My first session

The first session is a chance for us to meet and see how it feels to talk together online. We’ll explore what has brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and what feels most important to focus on right now. You’re welcome to go at your own pace — there is no expectation to share more than feels comfortable.

It’s also an opportunity for you to ask questions about how I work and to get a sense of whether this space feels right for you. From the outset, my intention is to offer a calm, steady relationship where your experiences can be heard with care and respect.

About me and my therapy practice

I’m a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor based in Lewes (BN7 and BN8), offering in-person sessions in Lewes and online therapy across the UK and Europe. I support adults and young people experiencing anxiety, grief and loss, overwhelm, life changes, identity shifts and relationship difficulties — including people who are living away from home or between cultures. My way of working is warm, steady and collaborative, and I aim to offer a safe, supportive space where you can talk openly and at your own pace. I also offer a free 30-minute introductory call if you’d like to get a sense of how I work.

Practice description

Sessions take place in calm, comfortable counselling rooms in Lewes. My approach is humanistic and integrative, drawing from Person-Centred, Gestalt, Existential and parts-informed ways of working. This means I’m interested in the whole of your experience — thoughts, feelings, body responses, relationships and life context — rather than offering one fixed method.

We work collaboratively, paying attention to how your emotional patterns developed for good reasons, even if they now feel difficult or exhausting to carry. Together we explore what is happening in the present while honouring what once helped you cope or stay safe. Over time, this can support greater self-understanding, self-compassion and the possibility of new choices.

Sessions are usually weekly and can be short-term or open-ended. We review together as we go, making sure therapy continues to feel supportive and relevant to what you need.

My first session

The first session is a gentle space to talk about what has brought you to therapy and what feels most important right now. We’ll explore what you’re hoping for, what you’d like support with, and any worries you may have about starting therapy. It’s also a chance for you to get a sense of me and how I work, and to ask any questions.

There is no pressure to share everything at once — we go at a pace that feels manageable for you. From the beginning, my intention is to offer a steady, attuned space where you don’t have to “hold it all together”, and where your feelings can be met with understanding rather than judgement.
