About me and my therapy practice
I’m Nick, an integrative psychotherapist and the founder of Calm Harbour Therapy, practising in East London and online across the UK. I’m UKCP-registered and a BACP-registered member, with an MA in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy (Terapia), an Enhanced DBS certificate and full indemnity insurance. I bring over 18 years’ experience of working with children, young people, parents and adults in educational, therapeutic and mental health roles.
Therapy often begins with a feeling that something isn’t right, even when it’s hard to say what. A shift in mood or behaviour, ongoing anxiety or a persistent sense of being stuck can all point to something deeper. My aim is to create a warm, non-judgemental space where that can be explored with care.
I work integratively, drawing from person-centred, attachment-based, psychodynamic, play and trauma-informed approaches to suit each client. I also offer Reflective Parenting sessions for parents who want support in understanding their child.
Neurodiversity is an important part of my practice. I work with autistic and ADHD clients and those with dyslexia and dyspraxia, and hold an NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism. My approach is neuroaffirming, focused on understanding rather than fixing.
Practice description
My practice is open to children and young people (5-18), adults and parents. I offer long-term, short-term and single-session work, face-to-face in East London and online.
For children and young people, play, creative activities and conversation help them work through emotions, family and school challenges, and build confidence.
For adults, I offer a space to explore anxiety, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, loss, burnout, redundancy, work stress and trauma, using person-centred, psychodynamic, attachment-based, CBT, mindfulness and trauma-informed methods.
For parents, Reflective Parenting looks at the feelings behind behaviour, helping you feel more confident and connected as a family.
Qualifications and training: MA in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy (Terapia); UKCP-registered psychotherapist; BACP-registered member (407303); NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism; Safeguarding and Child Protection in Private Practice (Level 3); Foundation Certificate in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (Minster Centre). Enhanced DBS and full indemnity insurance held.
I believe change comes through being understood, and that everyone deserves that, whether neurotypical or neurodivergent.

About me and my therapy practice
I’m Nick Dommett, the founder of Calm Harbour Therapy and an integrative psychotherapist based in East London, also offering online sessions throughout the UK. I’m a UKCP-registered psychotherapist and BACP-registered member, and I hold an MA in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy (Terapia), an Enhanced DBS certificate and full indemnity insurance. I’ve been working for over 18 years with children, young people, parents and adults, across education, mental health and therapeutic services.
The reasons people seek therapy are rarely simple. Behind outbursts, anxiety, low mood or withdrawal there’s usually something that hasn’t yet been put into words. My aim is to offer a welcoming, non-judgemental space where that can happen gradually and safely, for children, young people and adults alike.
I work integratively, bringing together person-centred, attachment-based, psychodynamic, play and trauma-informed approaches according to what each client needs. I also run Reflective Parenting sessions to support parents, either alongside a child’s therapy or separately.
I have deep experience with neurodivergent children and adults, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia, and hold an NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism. My work is neuroaffirming, centred on understanding rather than “fixing”.
Practice description
I offer therapy to children and young people (5-18), adults and parents, whether you’re looking for short-term, long-term or single-session support. Sessions are available face-to-face in East London and online.
With younger clients, I use play, creativity and conversation to help them work through difficult feelings, challenges at home or school, and social worries, and to build self-belief.
With adults, I help people work through anxiety, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, loss, burnout, redundancy, work stress and trauma, using person-centred, psychodynamic, attachment-based, CBT, mindfulness and trauma-informed approaches as needed.
Through Reflective Parenting, parents can explore the emotions behind their child’s behaviour and develop a stronger, more confident relationship.

I believe we grow through relationships, and that everyone, however they experience the world, deserves to be understood on their own terms.

About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Nick. I founded Calm Harbour Therapy and work as an integrative psychotherapist, face-to-face in London and online across the UK. My training includes an MA in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy (Terapia), and I’m UKCP-registered and a BACP-registered member. I hold an Enhanced DBS certificate and full indemnity insurance. Over 18-plus years, I’ve supported children, adolescents, parents and adults in schools, clinical services and private practice.
People often arrive in therapy unsure why things feel so hard. A child may be acting out or going quiet, or an adult may feel anxious, low or worn down without knowing why. I try to make room for that uncertainty, offering a calm, non-judgemental setting where you can explore what’s going on at your own pace.
I practise integratively, combining person-centred, attachment-based, psychodynamic and trauma-informed thinking, with play at the centre of work with younger children. The approach is always tailored to the individual. Parents can also work with me directly through Reflective Parenting.
Supporting neurodivergent children and adults, including those with autism, ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia, is a core part of my work, backed by an NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism. I work in a neuroaffirming way, respecting each person’s strengths and experience.
Practice description
My clients include children and young people (5-18), adults and parents. I offer long-term, short-term and single-session therapy, in East London and online.
For children and teenagers, I use play and creative, talk-based methods to help with big emotions, family and school difficulties, and building resilience.
Adult clients come with anxiety, relationship problems, self-esteem, bereavement, burnout, redundancy, work-related stress and trauma. I use a flexible mix of person-centred, psychodynamic, attachment-based, CBT, mindfulness and trauma-informed approaches.
Reflective Parenting gives parents a space to think about what drives their child’s behaviour and how to support them with greater confidence.
Qualifications and training: MA in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy (Terapia); UKCP-registered psychotherapist; BACP-registered member (407303); NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism; Safeguarding and Child Protection in Private Practice (Level 3); Foundation Certificate in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (Minster Centre). Enhanced DBS and full indemnity insurance held.
My practice rests on the belief that real change grows from a trusting relationship, and that neurotypical and neurodivergent people alike deserve to be met as individuals.
My first session
First, I offer a free 20-minute call — with a parent or carer if the client is a child or adolescent, or with the client directly if an adult — to talk through what's going on, answer questions, and see whether we seem like a good fit.
If we agree to go ahead, I'll send over contracting and GDPR paperwork, along with some background questions to prepare for our first meeting. We'll also agree fees, which sit between £90 and £120 per session.
We then meet — in person or online — to look at background, current difficulties, and what kind of support might help most. For children, this session happens without them present; for young people, it may include the young person, a parent or carer, or both, by prior agreement; for adults, it's just you and me, exploring what's brought you to therapy and what you're hoping for. This runs 90 minutes for children and adolescents, 50 minutes for adults.

When life feels overwhelming, it isn’t always clear why. A child’s behaviour changes, an adult feels persistently low or anxious, a relationship becomes strained. These are often signs that something needs to be understood rather than simply managed. I offer a calm, accepting space to do that, at a pace that feels right for you.
My approach is integrative, combining person-centred, attachment-based, psychodynamic, play and trauma-informed therapy, shaped around the individual. I also provide Reflective Parenting sessions for parents, alongside a child’s therapy or on their own.
I have significant experience with neurodivergent children and adults, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia, and hold an NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism. I work in a neuroaffirming way, respecting difference rather than trying to remove it.
Practice description
I see children and young people (5-18), adults and parents, in East London (E1) and online, for long-term, short-term or single-session therapy.
Children and young people are supported through play, creative and talk-based approaches to work through difficult feelings, social and school pressures, and family changes, and to develop resilience.
Adults are welcome to bring anxiety, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, grief, burnout, redundancy, work-related stress or trauma. I draw on person-centred, psychodynamic, attachment-based, CBT, mindfulness and trauma-informed approaches, depending on what suits you.

About me and my therapy practice
I'm Nick, an integrative psychotherapist and the founder of Calm Harbour Therapy, seeing clients face-to-face in London and online across the UK. I'm UKCP-registered and a BACP-registered member, with an MA in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy from Terapia, an Enhanced DBS certificate and full indemnity insurance in place. For over 18 years I've worked alongside children, young people, parents and adults in schools, mental health services and private practice, supporting difficulties that include anxiety, depression, family breakdown, bereavement and neurodivergent experiences such as ADHD and autism.
People rarely arrive at therapy with a clean explanation of what's wrong — more often it's a feeling of being stuck, a child who's suddenly withdrawn, or a relationship that's stopped working the way it used to. My job is to help unpick what's underneath that, in a space that's accepting rather than clinical.
I work integratively — drawing on attachment theory, psychodynamic thinking, person-centred and trauma-informed practice, and play therapy for younger clients — and shape the approach around the individual rather than applying one method to everyone. I also offer Reflective Parenting sessions for parents wanting support alongside their child's own therapy.
Neurodivergence is a particular area of focus for me. I've spent years working with autistic and ADHD children and adults, and hold an NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism. I take a neuroaffirming stance throughout — the goal is understanding and support, not correction.fference.
Practice description
I work with children and young people aged 5-18, adults and parents. Therapy can be long-term, short-term or single-session, in person in East London or online.
Children and adolescents are supported through play, creative work and conversation to understand difficult emotions, cope with pressures at home, at school and with friends, and grow in confidence.
Adults can bring anxiety, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, grief, burnout, redundancy, work stress or trauma. I draw on person-centred, psychodynamic, attachment-based, CBT, mindfulness and trauma-informed methods as appropriate.
Parents can use Reflective Parenting to look beyond behaviour at the feelings behind it, and to strengthen family relationships.
Qualifications and training: MA in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy (Terapia); UKCP-registered psychotherapist; BACP-registered member (407303); NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism; Safeguarding and Child Protection in Private Practice (Level 3); Foundation Certificate in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (Minster Centre). Enhanced DBS and full indemnity insurance held.
I believe healing happens in relationship, and that everyone deserves to be understood on their own terms.
My first session
First, a free 20-minute phone call: with a parent or carer if the client is a child or adolescent, or with you directly if you’re an adult. We’ll talk through what’s been happening, and you can ask me anything.

Then we meet, in person or online, to explore background, current difficulties and what might help most. For children, this session happens without the child present. For young people, a parent or carer may join, depending on what we’ve agreed beforehand. Adults attend alone. It lasts 90 minutes for children and adolescents and 50 minutes for adults.
