About me and my therapy practice
For people who are doing well on paper — but know something is missing.
If you're in your 30s, 40s, or 50s, professionally capable, probably seen as someone who holds it together — and yet quietly exhausted, disconnected, or uncertain about who you actually are underneath the role you play — this might be the space you've been looking for.
I work with adults who are carrying a lot, often invisibly. People who've built a life that looks right from the outside but doesn't quite feel like theirs from the inside. People who are successful, functional, and struggling in ways they find hard to name — let alone admit.
I'm a BACP Registered counsellor with a background in corporate environments spanning twenty years. I understand the pressures of professional life — the performance, the pace, the identity that gets built around a job title or a way of being — and I also understand how quietly corrosive it can be when that identity stops fitting.
My interest is in what's underneath: who you are when you're not performing, managing, or achieving. That's often where the real work is.
_____________________________________________
How I Can Help
I commonly work with people experiencing:
- Burnout, chronic stress, and the exhaustion that comes with always being "on"
- A growing sense that the life they've built doesn't reflect who they are
- Anxiety, self-criticism, and the pressure of high expectations — from others, or from themselves
- Low mood, disconnection, or a quiet loss of meaning or direction
- Identity questions — mid-life, career transitions, or simply asking "is this it?"
- Relationship difficulties — patterns that keep repeating, distance, or difficulty being truly known
- Addictive or compulsive behaviours used to cope, numb, or switch off
You don't need to arrive with a diagnosis or a clear problem. Many clients come knowing only that something isn't right — and that's enough to begin.
Practice description
My Approach
My work is grounded in a person-centred approach — which means the relationship itself matters. I aim to offer genuine warmth, honesty, and a space where you don't have to manage how you come across.
Alongside this, I draw from psychodynamic, CBT, and Gestalt approaches depending on what the work calls for. Some sessions focus on understanding patterns rooted in the past. Others are more present-focused — noticing what's happening now, and why. I'm particularly interested in the stories people carry about who they are, and how those stories can quietly limit them.
I'm not directive or prescriptive. But I am engaged, honest, and willing to gently challenge when it feels useful.

Why Work With Me?
I understand your world — not from a textbook, but from twenty years of working in it. That means less explaining, and more getting to what actually matters.
I'm not interested in fixing you — I don't think you're broken. I think you're probably carrying too much, and have been for a long time.
I work with the whole person — not just the presenting problem. That includes who you think you are, who you're afraid you might be, and who you might become with more room to breathe.
Flexible and accessible — online sessions available across the UK, evenings Monday to Thursday.
My first session
During our first counselling session together, we will explore what the focus of our work might be and get a sense of what meeting together feels like. This session is not just about me understanding you, but also about you gauging how comfortable and heard you feel with me as your counsellor.
I’ll listen to what’s brought you to counselling and gently explore what support might be most helpful for you. Then together, we will establish what you would like to get from therapy, and I will work to your agenda.
My style is relaxed, informal, and friendly. Sessions are in confidence with no judgement.
