About me and my therapy practice

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming.

Perhaps you are struggling with anxiety, low mood, grief, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, trauma, menopause, or simply feeling stuck and unsure of your next step. You may feel exhausted from carrying everything on your own or find yourself repeating the same patterns in relationships and wondering why.

Whatever has brought you here, I offer a warm, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace.

Seeking counselling can feel daunting, especially if this is your first experience of therapy. I understand how difficult it can be to take that first step, which is why I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment where you can feel comfortable being yourself.

Alongside my professional training, I bring a wealth of life experience and understand that life’s challenges can arise at any stage of our journey.

I work with adults aged 16 and over and support clients with a wide range of issues. With over five years Reiki Healing and Therapeutic Counselling experience, I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of adult clients, in education, private practice and community organisation’s.

Practice description

As an Integrative Counsellor, I tailor therapy to your individual needs because I feel that no two people are the same.

My approach combines person-centred and psychodynamic counselling, which allows us to explore both what is happening in your life now and how past experiences may be influencing your thoughts, feelings, beliefs and relationships today.

Counselling is considered for a wide range of reasons and we may explore together stress, burnout and emotional exhaustion/ anxiety and overwhelming emotions/ grief, loss and bereavement/ childhood experiences and family relationships/ low self-esteem and self-worth/ relationship patterns and attachment issues/ trauma and its lasting impact/ life changes and transitions/ addictions/ depression/ abuse

I believe that many of the difficulties we experience in adulthood can often be linked to earlier experiences, relationships and learned ways of coping. By gaining a deeper understanding of yourself, you can begin to make different choices, develop healthier relationships and move forward with greater confidence and self-awareness.

Sessions take place in a peaceful, private counselling room located in my cottage garden in Cliffe Woods, Kent. The room is separate from the main house, providing a quiet, comfortable and confidential space where you can talk freely without interruption. Many clients tell me they appreciate the calm and relaxed atmosphere, which helps them feel at ease from the moment they arrive.

I also offer online counselling for those who prefer the convenience of attending sessions from home.

My first session

I understand that contacting a counsellor for the first time can feel daunting, and you may be wondering what to expect.

To help you decide whether I am the right counsellor for you, I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation. This gives us an opportunity to briefly discuss what has brought you to counselling, answer any questions you may have, and see whether we feel we can work together.

If you decide to book an appointment, our first session will be an opportunity for us to explore your reasons for seeking counselling, discuss what you would like to achieve from therapy, and begin building a therapeutic relationship based on trust, safety and understanding.

There is no pressure or expectation. You are welcome to share as much or as little as feels comfortable, and we will work at a pace that feels right for you.
