About me and my therapy practice
As a qualified person-centred, neuro-affirmative counsellor working online, I will promise to hold an empathic and non-judgmental space for you.
My counselling space is neuro-affirmative and I offer a strengths-based approach to working with autistic, ADHD and AuDHD individuals; whether you have been diagnosed in childhood, have recently been diagnosed, or maybe you are exploring the possibility you might be neurodivergent. I also have lived experience and have made sure that my therapy is a safe and trusting space where you and the complexities of masking are understood.
I also work with the many mental health difficulties that can arise over our lifetime in all of us. My key areas of interest are working with menopause, anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement and relationship difficulties.
I also work with parents who have children who are struggling to go into school due to anxiety, neurodivergence or for other health reasons. The pressure on parents from school etc can be a lot to cope with so I like to offer a supportive space for those who feel they have no place to turn or have been forced into home education.
I enjoy working with young and older adults and my therapy room is a safe space for anyone from the LGBTQIA+ community.
Sometimes I might suggest elements of CBT or psychoeducation that might help you further. These will be offered only if you feel they could be beneficial for you.
With a free 30 minute phone consultation, we can have a chat and see if I am the right fit for you.
Practice description
My therapeutic philosophy is person centred - you are the expert of your own experience and I believe that you are capable of being the master of your own change. In addition, a good therapeutic relationship is fundamental to therapy. These are the core principles that runs through all my therapy.
However, sometimes I might have tools from CBT or psychoeducation that might help you further. These will be offered if you feel they would be beneficial to you.
I am very happy to work face to face, online or over the phone.
