About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Sarah. When we work together, you are at the heart of our sessions. You are the only person to have lived your experiences and I will aim to help you explore and understand them, and yourself, through gentle enquiry and sharing understanding in a safe, empathetic space.
I am a person-centred counsellor who incorporates polyvagal theory (an understanding of how our nervous systems work) into what we do together.
Whatever your reason for seeking counselling I will meet you with empathy and compassion, through our relationship I hope to help you find more sense of self and through this, find peace in your life.
Practice description
I have lovely rooms in Penryn and Probus for my face-to-face work and I also work online either full time or as a hybrid approach.
Client sessions are weekly or fortnightly depending on requirements and availability, generally there's more flexibility with online sessions compared to face-to-face.
I have a concessionary place for counselling students' therapy hours, please enquire if this is available.
My first session
I offer an introductory chat, which is free of charge, this is a short phone call where we can explore a little of what you're looking to get out of counselling and I can explain some of how I work and we can both decide if we're a good fit - if we feel we are then we can book the first session at the end of this call.

About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Sarah, a polyvagal informed person-centred counsellor.
When we work together, you are at the heart of our sessions. You are the only person to have lived your experiences and I will aim to help you explore and understand them, and yourself, through gentle enquiry and sharing understanding in a safe, empathetic space.
Polyvagal theory seeks to explain how our nervous system intertwines with everything we do, I think of it underpinning our approach to life and how we move through the world. I frequently bring aspects of how our nervous system supports us into sessions where it's appropriate and helpful.
I work with clients of all ages, genders and backgrounds, past and present - together we work on whatever you bring, whatever is going on for you in day to day life or maybe as a bigger picture. Our work often goes in directions we don't expect and I believe whatever needs to come up, will do. Sessions are 50 minutes and I'm guided by what you bring in any given session, I don't work to an agenda or towards an outcome unless you want to focus on something specific.
Whatever your reason for seeking counselling I will meet you with empathy and compassion, through our relationship I hope to help you find more sense of self and through this, find peace in your life.
