About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I'm Leyla, a Therapist and Health and Wellbeing Coach. I support women who may appear to be coping on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally exhausted, or disconnected from themselves.

Many of the women I work with are used to being the strong one – caring for others, managing responsibilities, and putting their own needs last. Over time, this can lead to burnout, self-doubt, and a loss of connection with who they are.

I offer a warm, compassionate, and trauma-informed space where you can speak openly without fear of judgement. Together, we can explore what is happening for you, make sense of your experiences, and help you move towards a more balanced and fulfilling life.

I work with women experiencing:

• Anxiety, stress, overwhelm, intrusive thoughts, and overthinking

• Trauma, including childhood, relational, and single-event trauma

• Low self-esteem, self-criticism, guilt, shame, and feelings of not being enough

• Burnout, emotional exhaustion, people-pleasing, and boundary difficulties

• Relationship and family challenges

• Emotional overwhelm and difficulties managing emotions

• Life transitions, including motherhood, separation, identity shifts, and career changes

• Grief and loss

• Perimenopause and menopause-related emotional changes

• Neurodiversity-related challenges, including social anxiety

• Feeling stuck, lost, or disconnected from yourself

I also support young women navigating identity, relationships, sexuality, and gender. This can be a time of uncertainty and self-discovery, particularly when personal experiences feel at odds with expectations from family, culture, or society.

I provide a safe and non-judgemental space where you can explore these aspects of yourself at your own pace, without pressure to have everything figured out.

You don't need to be in crisis to seek support. If life feels difficult, heavy, or out of balance, counselling can offer a space to feel heard, understood, and supported.

Practice description

My approach is integrative, meaning I draw on different therapeutic approaches to meet your individual needs. I also incorporate wellbeing coaching where appropriate, helping you gain insight into your experiences while developing practical tools to support your emotional wellbeing.

At the heart of my work is the belief that you do not need fixing. Together, we can explore how your experiences may have shaped the way you think, feel, and relate to yourself and others, and what you need moving forward.

My work focuses on:

• Creating emotional safety and supporting nervous system regulation

• Developing self-awareness and self-compassion

• Understanding patterns shaped by past experiences

• Supporting life transitions and identity changes

• Reconnecting with your needs, boundaries, and sense of self

I work gently and collaboratively, respecting your pace and recognising that healing looks different for everyone.

Alongside my private practice, I work as a Mental Health and Wellbeing Coach within a Primary Care Network (PCN). I also have experience working with children and young people in school and primary care settings, as well as within a trauma-focused counselling service.

My practice is grounded in compassion, authenticity, inclusivity, and cultural sensitivity. I aim to create a space where you feel safe, valued, and accepted.

Clients often tell me they feel heard, understood, and supported in our work together. I won't rush you or expect you to share more than feels comfortable. Therapy is your space, and we will work at a pace that feels right for you.

Whether you are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, burnt out, navigating a life change, exploring identity, or simply feeling unlike yourself, I offer a supportive space where you can pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself.

If you feel I may be the right therapist for you, I would be honoured to support you.

My first session

I offer a complimentary 15-minute introductory call to help you determine whether counselling with me is the right fit for you. This brief conversation provides an opportunity to share what you’re looking for, ask any questions, and gain a sense of how I work before committing to full sessions.

If you decide to continue, our first full session will be an opportunity to explore your current situation, goals, and what you hope to gain from therapy. I’ll also explain how I work, discuss confidentiality, and answer any questions you may have.

The first full session is charged at my standard rate, and there’s no obligation to continue if it doesn’t feel right for you. My aim is to help you feel comfortable, informed, and supported from the very start of your counselling journey.
