About me and my therapy practice

Free initial call available – you’re welcome to get in touch to see if I might be a good fit for what you need. Sessions are in-person in Redruth or online/phone nationwide.

Quick things you might want to know:

  • Clients often share they feel at ease in our sessions, particularly if previous therapy has felt uncomfortable, overwhelming, or unhelpful.
  • I value a balance of comfort and careful challenge – feeling heard and understood matters, and so does encouragement to notice patterns and explore change at a pace that feels okay.
  • My work is trauma-responsive, with attention to your safety, nervous system regulation, and the ways distress can shape coping, protection, and relating.
  • Therapy is collaborative and paced with you; there is no expectation to talk about anything before you’re ready.
  • I work from a Person-centred (NHS-approved) talking therapy approach. Clients can speak a little, a lot, directly, jump around, or loop back to the same place – all of this is welcome and often meaningful. If helpful, sessions may also include visual exploration (on paper, through metaphor, or using objects) to support the therapeutic process. Whilst by no means necessary, you can also bring your own ways of exploring such as music, lyrics, films, games, etc.

Practice description

Client experiences have been:

Anxiety, low mood/hopelessness, low self-worth, shame, coping mechanisms, confusion, emotional distress and crisis, abuse, trauma, grief, intimacy, identity, life transitions, and relational and behavioural patterns. Others are initially unsure why things feel as they do.

Alongside private practice, I work within the charity sector (CLEAR), supporting individuals affected by sexual assault and domestic abuse. This work continues to inform a careful, ethical, and grounded approach to therapy.

Practical Information:

  • Sessions are available face to face in Redruth and online or phone nationwide.
  • The room, located in a calm commercial building, is welcoming, with properly comfy armchairs, and a desk ready for any creative work. The view from the picture-window is of the trees, sky, and the sweet nesting jack-daws. There is free on-site parking. Clients often express their enjoyment of the space.
  • I offer a free initial call so you can ask questions and get a sense of whether working together might feel right.
  • The number of sessions is up to you, and we can explore this together as therapy unfolds.
