About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I’m Sofia

I’m a BACP registered Psychosynthesis counsellor and currently undertaking an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Transpersonal Psychotherapy. In simple terms, this means that alongside a psychological approach, I also hold in mind the connection between mind, body and spirit, and how these different parts of us shape the way we experience ourselves and the world around us.

If you’re looking for somewhere you can talk openly and be yourself, I offer a warm, non-judgemental space where we can explore whatever is going on for you. You might be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or simply unsure of what you need. Perhaps you also have a sense that there is something deeper you would like to understand or explore.

Practice description

How I work:

My approach is integrative and rooted in Psychosynthesis. Alongside talking therapy, we might draw on mindfulness, body awareness, drawing, writing, or other creative ways of exploring your experience. There is no set formula. We can find a way of working that feels natural and useful to you.

Together, we can explore your thoughts, feelings, relationships and patterns, including things that may be less conscious or harder to put into words. We can make space for different parts of yourself, uncover your own strengths and resources, and begin to see things from new perspectives.

I’m open to having difficult conversations, while staying aware of what comes up for both of us. I believe we can approach difficult experiences with honesty and curiosity, while learning to meet ourselves with more kindness and compassion.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin. We can start wherever you are and take things at a pace that feels right for you. Counselling isn’t about fixing something that is wrong with you. It can be a space to understand yourself more fully, reconnect with what matters to you, and find your own way forward.

Who I work with:

I support people experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship and family difficulties, bereavement, stress, confusion, and periods of feeling stuck or uncertain. I have particular experience working with neurodivergent people, including those with ADHD and autism, as well as members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

I’m also interested in supporting people going through periods of personal or spiritual transformation, or those who feel a sense of longing or curiosity about something deeper within themselves.

Whatever your background, beliefs, or life path, you are welcome here. You don’t need to fit into a particular way of being or have a particular reason for coming to counselling.
