My work is informed by a range of different theories and current approaches but I primarily use a blend of humanistic and psychodynamic models.

Practice description
Many clients describe feeling overwhelmed when they first come to therapy. I offer a down to earth approach, working with you to create a supportive space where you can explore what’s going on for you at your own pace and develop the tools and insights needed to make choices that feel right for you.
I believe that how we have learnt to relate to others and ourselves can impact us in many ways, causing us to repeat unhealthy patterns or become ‘stuck.’ Counselling can allow you the time and space to explore the behaviours and patterns that may be holding you back and find new ways of relating to yourself and others.
Through our work together I hope to enable you to move forward with greater self-compassion and insight.
I have worked with clients facing a range of challenges, including:
- Anxiety, depression, and panic attacks
- Low self-esteem and self-worth
- Work-related stress and burnout
- Redundancy
- Relationship difficulties and emotional abuse
- Life transitions, mid-life concerns, carer and parenting struggles
- Loss and bereavement
- The impact of shame and self-criticism
- Trauma and emotional neglect
- Overthinking and perfectionism
Whatever issues you bring, I offer a confidential and non-stigmatising environment for you to explore.
My first session
I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation where we can discuss your needs. I can tell you a bit more about how I work, and answer any questions you might have. You don’t need to share too much, I might just ask some questions about the support you’re seeking. If you decide you’d like us to work together, we will then arrange the first session.
Sessions are always 50 minutes long. If we are working online I will provide a link ahead of time. During the first session, we will explore your thoughts and feelings about therapy, discuss your expectations and goals, and address any questions you may have.
At the first session we will also discuss our client/ counsellor agreement which I will ask you to complete if we decide to continue working together.
