About me and my therapy practice
Do you find yourself lying in bed awake at night worrying, re-running conversations you've had that day?
Have you found yourself cancelling or turning down plans with friends as you'd rather be at home, but find that doesn't ease your anxiety or mood?
Do you feel blue and down but not sure why? And nothing seems to help lift that slump?
Are things becoming overwhelming and you just don't know where to start?
Sometimes in life we all may find ourselves needing help or someone to talk to.
It could be that you're struggling with something from your past; or finding it hard to cope with the day-to-day, or uncertain about the future?
Whatever it is, having someone to talk to who is separate from your friends and/or family can be just what is needed. This is where therapy can help. I believe everyone could benefit from having an hour a week dedicated just for them.
I offer counselling online and via the telephone across the UK.
I am fully insured, enhanced DBS check, ISO registered.
I have done additional training in ADHD and domestic abuse.
Practice description
As an Integrative therapist, I have trained in a number of modalities including person centred, existential, psychodynamic and cognitive, allowing me to adapt to each client's needs.
I offer clients the opportunity to work creatively, for example this may include working with buttons and drawing. Working in this way can be very helpful, especially if you sometimes find it hard to put your feelings into words. It can also put some people at ease and help reduce tension as well as connecting with your subconscious.
My practice also focuses on the mind and body connection, stress and tension and how they effect our bodies, for example stress headaches, aching muscles, exhaustion. This area is very important to me due to personal experience of ME/CFS.
These different modalities will blend together to assist in your therapy journey.
My professional experience includes seeing NHS staff (medical and support) working within a hospital and am pleased to offer any blue light card holders a discount.
I work one day a week for a community based charity in London, where I have worked with a variety of clients experiencing a bereavement, trauma (including those who've been affected by suicide, self-harm, sexual abuse), Domestic Abuse, EUPD, BPD, anxiety and depression.
My other professional experience, which spans over 20 years includes working with families of disabled children, unpaid carers, wellbeing befriending and further education students support.
My first session
I offer a free telephone consultation for all prospective clients and am pleased to offer a blue light discount.
What to expect during your consultation appointment:
- An opportunity to chat about how we'll work together
- Discuss what you'd like to talk about in therapy and your aims
- We will go through the contract, confidentiality and boundaries
We will confirm and sign the contract, which I will have emailed to you following your consultation.
This will be your time to talk more about what's brought you to counselling, tell your story and for us to start to get to know each other more.

Foremost, counselling is about the therapeutic working relationship you build with your client.
Feeling safe, supported and understood in a calm environment.
My first session
Before your first session I offer a free telephone consultation, so we can get to know each other a little.
If you decide to go ahead and book a session with me I will ask you to confirm your appointment by paying your fee 24 hours in advance.
At your first session we'll do an in take form together, which may include completing a form to understand your levels of anxiety and depression.
I will ask you for your GPs contact information and a next of kin, in case of emergencies.
We will also complete a contract together (we will have covered most of this over the phone in advance).
The first session is often about you telling me your story, what's brought you to therapy and your aims for counselling. What you'd like your outcome to be. You may not know at this stage and that's also fine. It's about us getting to know each other and whether it's your first experience of counselling of you've experienced counselling in the past, we'll be talking about how we will work together.
