About me and my therapy practice
You might be holding everything together on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, stuck or unsure of yourself underneath. Perhaps anxiety is taking up more space, a relationship is becoming difficult, or a significant life change has left you questioning who you are and what you need.
I am Megan, a BACP-registered integrative counsellor offering online counselling to adults across the UK. I work with people experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, loss, identity changes and times when life simply no longer feels manageable.
I have a particular interest in supporting women through pregnancy, motherhood and early parenthood. Becoming a mother can bring love and meaning, but it can also affect your identity, relationships, confidence and sense of self. You may feel pressure to be coping while privately feeling lonely, resentful, anxious or disconnected from the person you were before.
My approach is warm, straightforward and curious. I will listen carefully, ask questions and share what I notice. At times, I may gently challenge something or return to a detail that feels important, but I will not tell you what to do or make decisions for you.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw on person-centred therapy, Gestalt and transactional analysis. This allows us to work in a way that responds to you as an individual rather than following a fixed formula.
Practice description
I offer online counselling for adults through secure video sessions. Sessions last 50 minutes and are usually held weekly.
You do not need to arrive with a clear explanation of what is wrong. You may simply know that something does not feel right anymore. Together, we can slow things down, explore what has been happening and begin to understand the patterns, experiences and pressures that may be affecting you.
Counselling can offer space to consider what you need, understand yourself with greater compassion and find a way forward that feels more manageable and authentic.
I have professional experience across homelessness, substance misuse and education, supporting people through complex circumstances, emotional difficulties and periods of significant change. I have also completed additional training relating to pregnancy, infant loss, infertility, attachment and matrescence.
My first session
I offer a free 15-minute introductory call before booking your first counselling session. This is an opportunity to tell me a little about what has brought you to counselling, ask questions and get a sense of whether I might be the right counsellor for you.
During our first full session, we will talk more about what is happening for you and what you would like from counselling. I will also explain how I work, confidentiality and the practical side of sessions.
There is no expectation to tell me everything straight away. We will work at a pace that feels comfortable and manageable for you.
