About me and my therapy practice

Hi and welcome, I’m Iga (she/her),

I’m an Integrative Counsellor supporting adults who feel stuck in survival mode. Many of the people I work with are used to holding everything together, while quietly struggling with anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, low self-esteem, or the lasting impact of stress and trauma.

You might have tried nervous system tools, podcasts, or self-help books, yet still feel that something deeper hasn’t shifted. I know how exhausting that can be - I’ve been there too - and I'd love to help.

Therapy with me is gentle and collaborative. We work at your pace, exploring your patterns with curiosity rather than judgment, supporting your nervous system, and helping you reconnect with parts of yourself that learnt to hide in order to cope.

Clients often describe me as warm, open, and easy to talk to. I offer a space that feels human and emotionally safe, where you can be met with compassion and honesty. When it feels supportive, I can gently challenge you to deepen the work, and I also use humour where it brings lightness and connection.

HOW THERAPY CAN HELP

Together, we can work towards:

  • Having a safe, confidential space to offload - somewhere you don’t have to hold it all together, explain yourself, or protect anyone else’s feelings
  • Helping you understand your nervous system responses and develop practical, compassionate ways to regulate
  • Reducing anxiety, overwhelm, and self-criticism
  • Feeling calmer and more grounded, without constant mental noise
  • Reconnecting with emotions such as anxiety, anger, or grief - at a pace that feels safe
  • Healing the impact of relational trauma and repeated experiences of not feeling safe, seen, or supported
  • Releasing shame and softening your inner critic
  • Developing healthier boundaries and self-trust
  • Feeling safe enough to rest, feel, and choose yourself
  • Moving from survival mode into a life that feels more connected, fulfilling, and true to you

Practice description

My approach is integrative which means I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities and tailor our work to what you need. Together, we will explore your inner world through parts-work (IFS), attachment patterns, and body based awareness - always at the pace that feels right for you.

I work in a relational and trauma-informed way, placing great importance on creating a safe, attuned therapeutic relationship. The connection between therapist and client isn’t just the backdrop to the work - it’s one of the most powerful parts of the healing process.

Another key element of therapy with me is supporting your nervous system. We’ll work on recognising what safety, stress, or overwhelm feel like in your body, and develop ways to regulate, ground, and reconnect. This helps bring more ease, clarity, and calm into your daily life.

Sometimes emotional distress can show up through the body - as fatigue, tension, pain, or digestive issues. These are not “just in your head.” Your mind and body are always in conversation, and therapy can help you understand and care for both.

I work in a neuro-affirmative way, honouring neurodiversity (such as ADHD & Autism), and individual differences as part of what makes us human. Many people I support come to therapy after years of masking, burnout, or feeling misunderstood. My approach centres on compassion, nervous system support, and helping you reconnect with who you are beneath coping and survival strategies.

I’m also an LGBTQIA+ ally, committed to creating a compassionate and inclusive space where you can show up fully as yourself.

If you would like to find out more about me and how I work, please visit my website: www.therapywithiga.com.

My first session

Initial Consultation & First Session

Finding the right counsellor or therapist can feel overwhelming, especially if you are feeling anxious, stuck, or unsure where to begin. To support you in taking this first step, I offer a free 20-minute introductory call, available by phone or online (Zoom or Google Meet).

This is a relaxed, no-obligation conversation where you can:

  • ask any questions you may have about counselling or therapy
  • share a little about what has been going on for you
  • explore whether my way of working feels right for you

I will also explain my therapeutic approach and how I might be able to support you, so you can make an informed decision about starting therapy.

What to expect in the first counselling session

It is completely natural to feel nervous when beginning therapy. In our first session, we will spend time getting to know each other and clarifying what you would like help with. This initial assessment allows me to understand your needs, goals, and any previous experience of counselling.

I work at your pace and aim to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard and understood. There is no pressure to share more than you feel ready to.

Each counselling session lasts 50 minutes.

I work in a relational and trauma-informed way, placing great importance on creating a safe, attuned therapeutic relationship. The connection between therapist and client isn’t just the backdrop to the work - it’s one of the most powerful parts of the healing process.

Much of my work centres around anxiety, chronic stress, and burnout. I support clients in understanding their nervous system responses and developing practical, compassionate ways to regulate, so life feels more manageable and grounded rather than overwhelming.

I work with many neurodivergent clients, including those diagnosed with ADHD or Autism later in life. These clients often describe long histories of burnout, people-pleasing, and self-doubt. My neuro-affirmative approach will help you reconnect with your needs and learn to live in a way that honours your nervous system, so you can move from self-blame to self-understanding and acceptance.

I'm bilingual (English and Polish) and have experience working cross-culturally. I understand how language, culture, and upbringing can shape emotional expression, identity, and our relationship with ourselves and others.

My first session

Initial Consultation & First Session

Finding the right counsellor or therapist can feel overwhelming, especially if you are feeling anxious, stuck, or unsure where to begin. To support you in taking this first step, I offer a free 20-minute introductory call, available by phone or online (Zoom).
