About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I’m Yvonne, welcome to my profile.

Some losses don’t look obvious from the outside.

A friendship fading, a relationship ending, becoming a carer, being made redundant, retirement, experiencing ill health, relocating, ageing, and the changes it can bring, children leaving home, or not becoming the version of yourself you once imagined.

Grief isn’t only about death. Sometimes it’s mourning a life, identity, future, or deep connection that mattered profoundly.

My approach is informed by my volunteer work with Bereft Bereavement Support and Cruse Bereavement Support, where I supported individuals through a range of emotional responses linked to loss including anxiety and depression.

I recognise that grief and loss can be experienced differently by neurodivergent people, and I aim to offer a space where those individual experiences can be understood without judgement

I’m a fully qualified counsellor based in Uxbridge Town Centre.

Practice description

The loss of someone or something close to you can bring a mix of  emotions - sadness, despair, anger, or even relief - many of which can be hard to put into words. You may find yourself feeling numb, overwhelmed, anxious, low, or unsure of how to make sense of everything.

At A Grief Space, I offer a confidential, respectful, and supportive space where you can talk openly about your loss.

My approach is integrative, drawing on person-centred and psychodynamic ways of working. This means I can adapt our work to you and what you need, while offering a space to explore both what you are experiencing now and, where helpful, some of the experiences that may have shaped you.

Sessions are guided by what is most important to you and I can offer structure if you feel it would be beneficial.

My first session

After I receive your enquiry I will be in touch to arrange an initial no-obligation brief chat. This gives us an opportunity to find out whether counselling may be helpful for you at this time, and for you to ask any questions you may have.
