About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative counsellor, which means I tailor therapy to you as an individual rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. I draw from a range of therapeutic models, including person-centred, psychodynamic, attachment-based and trauma-informed approaches, depending on your needs, goals and pace.

At the core of my work is creating a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space where you can explore whatever has brought you to counselling. Many clients come to me struggling with trauma (past or recent), relationship difficulties, low self-worth, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, or feeling stuck in unhelpful patterns. Together, we gently explore how past experiences may be influencing your present, while also focusing on what you need in the here and now.

I believe the therapeutic relationship itself is central to healing. I work collaboratively, offering warmth, honesty and compassion, while also supporting you to develop greater self-awareness, emotional regulation and healthier boundaries. Sessions are led by you, but I will offer reflections, gentle challenge and insight where it feels helpful and appropriate.

I understand that starting counselling can feel daunting. You don’t need to know exactly what to say or have everything figured out. We go at your pace, building trust over time, with the aim of helping you feel more grounded, empowered and connected to yourself.

I offer both short-term and open-ended therapy, online.

Practice description

Life can sometimes feel like too much, leaving you stuck, anxious, or unsure of yourself. You may find it hard to talk to family or friends, or feel like no one really understands. Counselling gives you a safe space to share what’s on your mind without fear of judgment, and to explore what you truly need.

I’m an integrative counsellor, which means I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I adapt the way I work to suit you, drawing on different therapies to support your individual needs. Together we might look at what’s happening for you right now, as well as past experiences that may still affect you.

My aim is to create a warm, supportive relationship where you feel heard and understood. We’ll go at your pace, and I’ll walk alongside you as you explore your challenges and find ways to move forward.

I currently offer online sessions, making it easy to access support from the comfort of your own space.

My first session

The first session is a chance for us to meet, begin building a sense of safety, and explore what has brought you to counselling.

We will spend some time going through important practical information, including confidentiality, boundaries, how counselling works, and any questions you may have. I will also take some key background details, such as relevant personal history and what support you currently have in place. This helps me work safely and ethically, but it is not an interrogation — you only share what feels manageable for you.

We will then focus on what you would like help with and what has led you to seek counselling at this point in your life. You don’t need to have the “right words” or a clear goal; we can begin wherever you are. Some clients talk a lot in their first session, others find it takes time — both are completely okay.

You will also have space to get a feel for how I work and whether counselling with me feels right for you. There is no pressure to commit beyond the session itself.

The first session moves at your pace and is about creating a foundation of trust, safety and understanding from which the work can develop.

My first session

It’s normal to feel nervous about starting counselling, especially if it’s your first time. The first session is really about getting to know each other and helping you feel comfortable.

We’ll talk about what has brought you to counselling and what you hope to get from it. There’s no pressure to share everything at once — you can go at your own pace. I’ll explain how I work, answer any questions you might have, and we’ll agree on some practical things like session times, confidentiality, and what you can expect from me.

Think of the first session as a gentle starting point. It’s a chance for you to see how it feels to talk with me, and for us to decide together if I’m the right counsellor for you.
