About me and my therapy practice
Are you struggling with grief, loss or a difficult life change? You don’t have to face it alone. Having a warm, calm and supportive space where you can speak openly about what you are experiencing can make a real difference.
I am a fully qualified online therapeutic counsellor with particular experience supporting people affected by bereavement and loss, while also working with young people aged 16+ and adults experiencing a range of emotional difficulties and life challenges. I also support family carers who might be managing the emotional impact of caring alongside their own needs.
Grief is a deeply personal experience and can affect every area of life. Whether your loss was recent or happened a long time ago, you may still be experiencing a range of emotions. Grief can affect everyone differently, and there is no right or wrong way to grieve. You might be experiencing sadness, anger, guilt, anxiety, loneliness or simply feeling overwhelmed by how different life feels. Sometimes opening up to family and friends can feel challenging, particularly if you worry about being a burden, don’t want to upset them, or feel they may not fully understand what you are going through. Counselling can offer a safe and compassionate space to talk openly about your feelings, without judgement, giving you the time you need to process your grief.
Loss is not only associated with bereavement, it can also arise through changes in health, relationships, work, identity, independence, or hopes for the future. These experiences can feel difficult to navigate, and counselling can provide an opportunity to explore what you are going through and find a way forward that feels meaningful to you.
Practice description
My approach is person-centred, which means our work together is guided by you and your individual needs. We will work at your pace, focusing on what feels most important to you. I believe you are the expert on your own life and that feeling heard, understood and accepted can be an important first step towards positive change. My role is to offer empathy, understanding, and support as you develop greater self-awareness, explore your emotions and gain insight into the challenges you may be facing.
Alongside my private practice, I volunteer as a bereavement counsellor for a national bereavement charity. I have also supported students in further education and family carers looking after loved ones affected by illness, disability, end of life care, and age-related conditions.
I regularly undertake further training for professional development to deepen my knowledge and skills to ensure I provide the highest standard of care.
I offer short or long term sessions lasting for 50 minutes either online via zoom or by telephone, making counselling accessible from the comfort and privacy of your own home.
