About me and my therapy practice

I'm Michelle, an approachable integrative therapist with a particular interest in life transitions — times when who we are or where we’re headed feels unclear or uncertain. Whether you’re navigating menopause, stepping into life after university, or reconsidering your career path, I can help you reconnect with yourself and rebuild a sense of purpose and direction. Shifts in our life circumstances can bring anxiety, low mood, loss of confidence, or a sense of being “stuck”, and it can be hard to know which direction to take. Talking with someone can help you make sense of these feelings and find a way forward that feels right for you. I support clients with warmth, clarity and practical strategies to help you move forward

I am a post-graduate level trained and fully qualified BACP psychotherapist and coach working from therapy rooms in Epsom and online throughout the UK. Alongside my specialism in life transitions, I also work with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship issues and trauma, including domestic abuse and childhood sexual abuse.

I am passionate about helping people understand themselves more deeply and create meaningful, long-lasting change. I know that taking the first step into therapy can feel daunting, whether this is your first time or you're an experienced client. You may be unsure about what to expect or how to choose the right therapist — I aim to make this process feel as comfortable and straightforward as possible.

My approach is integrative which means I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and tailor them to your individual needs. I also integrate coaching skills to help you identify and work towards your goals. Together, we will explore your present difficulties, the impact of past experiences, and the future you’d like to move towards. This approach works particularly well for clients who want both emotional insight and practical steps to support change.

Practice description

I am warm, friendly and approachable, and take a down-to-earth, pragmatic and compassionate approach to therapy. At times, and if it is appropriate, I use gentle humour during our work as this can help facilitate an authentic relationship and release feelings of anxiety.

Like all therapists, I am non-judgemental, empathic and a very attentive listener. I work with clients from a wide range of backgrounds so am skilled at putting people at ease. I work at your pace to help you get the most out of your sessions, using gentle challenge to help you reflect on your experiences and find a way forward.

I firmly believe that you are the expert on yourself rather than the therapist. This means that I do not give advice or tell you what to do but help you draw on your inner resources so that you gain a greater insight into the difficulties you are experiencing in a way  that feels right for you

My aim is to help you develop the skills to cope so that you are better able to understand yourself and live a fulfilled life. Therapy is a collaborative process so I provide a supportive, safe and compassionate environment where you are free to be yourself.

Prior to training as a therapist, I had a long career in government communications where I led campaigns to help people make meaningful changes to their lives. I can therefore draw on a range of skills and experience to help you achieve the changes you want.
