About me and my therapy practice
Having re-trained as a therapist later in life, I bring a lot of lived experience to my work and have empathy and understanding for challenges that arise at all stages of life.
A lot of my work is longer term, and my aim is to build a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship, where my clients feel safe to bring and deeply explore the issues affecting their lives.
Attachment is at the heart of how I work. Relationship patterns from early life can have lasting impact on how we live now. I will seek to understand both your past and current relationships, the ones you have with others in your life, but also the one you have with yourself. We can all be unaware of emotions and feelings we have needed to push away, sometimes in order to protect ourselves or to survive and thrive in difficult circumstances.
I offer a trusted space where you are welcome to bring all parts of yourself and to experience and understand feelings that may be uncomfortable and unfamiliar. Through this process clients gain greater self-awareness that enables them to move forward in new ways.
If this sounds like an approach that would help you, please do get in touch.
Practice description
I am a qualified integrative counsellor, bringing together psychodynamic and person-centred approaches. I have experience working with a wide range of clients and presentations.
I offer both open ended and short term individual therapy. Sessions are available online via Zoom or face to face from therapy rooms in London E1.
Sessions are available weekdays, daytime and evening. Please email for more details.
My first session
If you are interested in working with me, I offer a free initial 20 minute Zoom consultation. This gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you have before making a decision to go ahead and for me its an opportunity to find out more about your aims and expectations for the work.
If you decide to go ahead, session are 50 minutes on a weekly basis. In the first session my priority will be to get to know you and find out more about your personal history and the issues which have brought you to counselling. We will go through a short assessment process together which helps me understand more about how the issues you are bringing are impacting you day to day.
