About me and my therapy practice

I am an Integrative Counsellor trained in three different theories, Person-Centred, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Being an integrative therapist means that I can draw on these approaches and skills in our work together in a way that feels right for you.

While counselling is not a quick fix, I strongly believe in its transformative potential. Having started counselling training with the intention of understanding my own mental health challenges, I hold a deep belief that everyone has the potential to access their inner resources to help themselves and move towards a more content and balanced life. With commitment and a willingness to engage in the process, everyone can make positive changes.

I have experience in supporting people with depression, autism, ADHD, self-harm, suicide ideation, anxiety and transitional issues arising from life changes – divorce, redundancy, ageing, menopause, relocation and parenthood, as well as understanding the impact of past trauma.

Practice description

My way of working is relational, which means understanding that change occurs through connection, empathy and authentic engagement. Our work together will be informed by three therapeutic approaches. Person-Centred theory emphasises your inherent capacity for growth, change and choice. Psychodynamic theory explores how early experiences and our formative environment influences the way we relate to ourselves and others. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) focuses on the connections between our thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and how these patterns can be understood and changed.

My aim is to offer you a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can explore all parts of yourself and be supported in finding a way forward. Working with these different approaches to counselling helps us look at your issues through different lenses depending on what you want to focus on and what makes more sense to you. If you are ready to engage in self-exploration please get in touch.

My first session

The first session is a gentle starting point, a chance for me to understand what has been going on for you. We will spend time exploring your background and the challenges you are facing, at a pace that feels comfortable to you.

It is completely normal to feel a little nervous beforehand, but many people find the first session deeply relieving. Having the space to talk openly about your worries and experiences with an empathetic, non-judgemental listener in a confidential and safe environment can be therapeutic in itself.

If you’d like to book a session, you can do so using the link below. If you’d prefer to have an informal chat first, just get in touch and we can arrange a telephone or video call.
