About me and my therapy practice
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming. You may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, the effects of trauma, grief or loss, or simply feeling unsure about what to do next.
Whatever has brought you here, you don't have to face it alone.
I offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about what's happening for you. Together, we can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences, helping you gain a greater understanding of yourself and find a way forward that feels right for you.
Through counselling, many people find greater clarity, understanding and confidence in managing life's challenges. I believe that being truly listened to, without judgement or pressure, can be an important first step towards self-understanding, change and healing.
My core training is in Person-Centred Counselling, alongside a Diploma in CBT Skills and Theory. I work integratively, drawing on person-centred values and CBT techniques to tailor counselling to your individual needs, circumstances and goals.
I see you as the expert in your own life, and my role is to support you in making sense of your experiences in a way that feels meaningful and manageable.
My approach is built on trust, respect, safety and choice. I work in a trauma-informed way and recognise that people experience and navigate the world differently, including those with ADHD or autism. I adapt my approach to suit each person as an individual.
Where it feels helpful, I may draw on CBT techniques and coping strategies. These are always introduced collaboratively and used in a way that supports your goals and needs.
Practice description
I offer online counselling throughout the UK, telephone counselling, and face-to-face counselling in the Christchurch and Highcliffe area.
I work with adults aged 18 and over.
Sessions last 50 minutes and can be arranged weekly or fortnightly, depending on your needs and circumstances.
A free 20-minute introductory call is available if you would like to ask questions, find out more about how I work, or explore whether we may be a good fit for working together.
I welcome adults from all backgrounds and with a wide range of experiences.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin exploring what has brought you to counselling. We can discuss what you would like support with, what you hope to gain from therapy, and any questions or concerns you may have.
It is also a chance for you to get a sense of how I work and whether counselling with me feels right for you.
There is no pressure to share anything before you feel ready. We will work at a pace that feels comfortable for you, with the focus on creating a safe and supportive space where you can begin to explore whatever is important to you.
