About me and my therapy practice

Trained in both the Person Centred modality alongside Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), I use both modalities within my work to create a dynamic way of working that suits you individually.

Counselling has the ability to help you feel empowered, to make those changes you feel you want to make, whilst having that safe space with someone who allows you to feel comfortable and heard. I believe that therapy works best when you can be the truest version of yourself. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just unsure of your next steps, I aim to walk alongside you with compassion and honesty. I tailor our sessions to what you need, sometimes that means offering a space to explore feelings, other times it might mean using practical CBT strategies to help challenge unhelpful thoughts and behaviours. You can bring whatever you need to your sessions and whatever you want too without judgement.

Practice description

As a registered counsellor, I can work with you and help you move through your problems, in your own way and at your own pace. I don’t believe in a one size fits all approach to therapy, I believe in diversity and I believe in adapting sessions to work with each individual's needs. I also feel that this is a team effort - I am here to direct where needed but everything we do together, is decided together during our sessions, meaning you are in the drivers seat. Whether your anxiety is taking over your daily life, your depression is impacting you desperately or if you would like to grow your confidence and regain that sparkle, these are all areas we can work through together.

I work both remotely and face to face - sessions can be tailored to suit you. If your looking for telephone, online, face to face or a mix of all, we can make the sessions around what suits you best.

My first session

The first session is a great chance to get to know one another, I do this is a relaxed way without any pressure. I do like to use 2 small assessments to see where you are within yourself - these are also used later on when we want to review and see what improvements have happened for you.

The first session is a great opportunity for us to find our feet together, ask questions, decide on a treatment plan moving forward and really look at what's going on for you at the moment and what has brought you for therapy.
