About me and my therapy practice

I am a pyschotherapist offering warm, inclusive and accepting therapy for individuals and couples/ relationships in Soho, Kings Cross, and online/phone.

I work with people through life's biggest upheavals, such as illness, bereavement and loss, menopause, work challenges, and relationship issues. I offer a space to process how you are feeling and understand your experience. I believe this is the first step in navigating a way forward. I provide a solid, calm presence to accompany you as you swear, cry, express anger, fear, sadness, and pain.

For relationships/ couples, I work with people experiencing conflict, trust, or communication breakdown/ problems. I support partners to listen to each other, understand the patterns in the relationship, and find ways to work through problems together.

I have specialism in cancer and illness, including chronic pain conditions and work with patients and carers. I work with people from initial diagnosis and appreciate the long-term impacts of illness diagnosis on physical and mental health. I also work with clients through palliative treatment and at end of life stages. Alongside my private practice, I am a volunteer counsellor with The Brain Tumour Charity.

I also specialise in bereavement and loss, including anticipatory grief, prolonged grief, and sudden loss.

I am a qualified coach as well as therapist, and offer Therapeutic Coaching, which is helpful if you have specific goals or aims for therapy.

Practice description

I believe everyone is unique and adapt my approach depending on your preferences and needs. I work collaboratively with you to understand what is helpful. Some clients prefer structure, questions, and to keep them focused on specific goals. Others like freedom and space. We will work this out together. I am happy and experienced to work with different methods for expressing your story, including writing (creative or journal), objects, photos, and art, or whatever creative medium you are drawn to.

I am firmly committed to inclusive and anti-oppressive practice. I recognise and welcome all relationship types, gender expressions, and sexual orientation. I am continuously working to be anti-racist. I am neuro affirming in my approach.

I hold a BSc in Person Centred Pluralistic Advanced Counselling from Metanoia Institute, a Level 5 Certificate in Couple/ Relationship Therapy accredited by COSRT and am a coach accredited at Senior Practitioner level by EMCC.

My first session

Following an initial free call, our first session together will be a gentle introduction, working at your pace and comfort level to share some of your background and what brings you to counselling. If you're feeling nervous or unsure of what to say, I will ask more questions. My aim is for you to feel understood, listened to, and accepted.

For couples, I have a structured approach to our first few sessions, and will ask all partners questions about your relationship, such as how you met, and what challenged you are facing. My aim is to understand the patterns and concerns you are facing, from which we can establish a plan for how to address them.

About me and my therapy practice

I offer accepting, warm, and inclusive counselling in person in central London and online/ phone for individuals and couples/ relationships.

Does any of this sound familiar? An upheaval in your life, such as illness, change or challenge at work, or caring for someone you love, has left you feeling anxious, low or stuck.

You’ve experienced a loss that is gut-wrenching or confusing. It might be the death or a loved one or end of a relationship.

Your usual coping mechanisms have been thrown by life, menopause or perimenopause symptoms and it all feels too much.

I offer a space that is entirely about and for you. Time to process what is happening in your life, make sense and discover new ways to cope and move forwards. Space to cry, shout, swear, and feel whatever you’re feeling.

For couples, I work with people in relationships who are experiencing communication challenges, recovery from betrayal, infidelity, intimicay and sex problems, and conflict. I support you by providing a contained space to share how you are feeling and facilitate discussions about how you can move forwards.

Practice description

I work with people experiencing upheavals, such as changes at home, in relationships and problems at work. I work with people with cancer or other health diagnosis, and lasting health anxiety. I support people through life transitions, such as menopause or perimenopause or caring for a family member. I help those dealing with loss, such as bereavement or the end of a relationship.

When we face one or more of these problems we can be left feeling anxious, low, confused and lost. Our usual coping mechanisms no longer do the trick. The past experiences we thought were dealt with can resurface. We can be left asking what is all this about?

I recognise and welcome all identities, gender expressions, values and beliefs. I am committed to anti-racist, LGBTQIA+ inclusive, accessible and neuro-inclusive practice.

For face to face sessions, I work in a private and comfortable room in the heart of Kings Cross, Soho or Holborn.

My first session

Taking the first step towards counselling can be daunting. I offer a free 20 minute introductory call where you can share more about what brings you to counselling and ask any questions.
