About me and my therapy practice
I am a warm, approachable BACP registered Integrative Counsellor. I work with adults and young people (12+) offering a safe, supportive and nurturing space to explore difficult experiences, develop greater self-understanding and work towards a more settled and fulfilling everyday life.
Having trained in Integrative counselling the core of my approach lies in person centred and psychodynamic approaches. I believe the key to therapy is the relationship that we build with each other.
Practice description
Having a safe, supportive and understanding space to talk can make a real difference, particularly when life feels difficult, overwhelming or confusing. My aim is to offer a warm, non-judgemental environment where you can feel heard, accepted and able to explore whatever has brought you to therapy, at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
I work collaboratively, recognising that everyone's experiences are different and that there is no single approach that works for everyone. I place great importance on building a trusting relationship where you can feel safe enough to explore difficult thoughts, feelings and experiences without pressure or expectation.
My approach is Integrative. While the relationship between us is at the heart of the work, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches including humanistic, psychodynamic and CBT. Depending on your needs, our sessions might involve exploring past experiences and relationship patterns, making sense of present-day difficulties, or developing a greater understanding of the ways in which past experiences might be affecting you today.
I work with adults and young people 12 and above, supporting a range of difficulties including anxiety, relationship struggles, low self esteem, neurodivergence and low mood.
My hope is that through our work together, you can develop a deeper understanding of yourself, find new ways of relating to your experiences and feel able to move forward with greater confidence, self compassion and a sense of possibility.
Therapy can be short-term and focused on a particular difficulty, or longer term and more exploratory.
My first session
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it's natural to feel a little uncertain about what to expect. Our first session is an opportunity for us to meet, being to get to know one another and talk about what has brought you to therapy and what you might be hoping for from our time together.
There is no expectation to share everything straight away or to have a clear idea on what you want to work on. We can take things at your pace. It's a chance for you to get a sense of me and how I work, and to consider if it feels like a good fit.
