About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified and experienced counsellor based in St Albans. I offer short and long-term therapy either from my private therapy room in St Albans or online.
Practice description
Choosing the right counsellor is an important decision. The relationship between counsellor and client plays a key role in the therapeutic process, so it is important that you feel comfortable, heard and supported. I aim to provide a confidential, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.
I believe that, as an individual, you have the capacity to make positive changes in your life and move towards greater happiness and fulfilment. Whether you are experiencing a particular challenge, going through a difficult period or simply looking for a space to be heard, we can work together to develop greater awareness, understanding and positive change.
I work with a Gestalt focus, which means paying attention to what is happening for you in the present, while considering how past experiences may continue to influence your thoughts, feelings, relationships and responses today. Together, we can explore patterns, relationships and challenges, as well as anything that may be getting in the way of living in the way you would like. Where appropriate, I can also integrate coaching into my practice.
I am a Practitioner accredited by the Foundation for Infant Loss in Pregnancy and Infant Loss, Infertility and Rainbow Baby. I support individuals and couples experiencing the emotional impact of infertility, pregnancy loss, miscarriage, subsequent pregnancy or the arrival of a rainbow baby.
I am also a qualified Rewind Practitioner and, where appropriate, can incorporate the Rewind technique to support clients affected by distressing or traumatic experiences.
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked for many years in education and as a musician.
I am a registered member of the BACP and work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework, with regular supervision in line with BACP guidelines. If you would like to arrange an initial phone consultation, I would be happy to hear from you and aim to respond within 24 hours.
My first session
I offer a free 15-minute introductory conversation, either by phone or online.
Following this, we can organise a time to meet, either in person or online. We will meet at the same time each week and sessions last for 50 minutes.
My private therapy room is located in St Albans, close to Clarence Park. Parking is available. I offer both short and long-term therapy, depending on your needs.
I look forward to hearing from you.
