About me and my therapy practice
Are you finding that alcohol, substances, or certain behaviours are becoming harder to control — or that anxiety or low mood are starting to take their toll?
You may feel stuck, conflicted, or unsure what needs to change. Part of you may want things to be different, while another part feels uncertain or not ready.
I specialise in working with addiction, anxiety, and depression, including alcohol and substance use, gambling, and behavioural addictions. I have particular experience where addiction and mental health difficulties overlap.
I offer a calm, non-judgemental space to understand what’s driving these patterns and to support meaningful, manageable change at your pace.
My approach is collaborative and grounded in motivational interviewing and evidence-based practice. I won’t tell you what to do or judge your choices. Instead, we’ll work together to explore what’s important to you, build motivation, and make changes that feel realistic and sustainable.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting. We can begin wherever you are.
Practice description
I offer a calm, structured and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about what’s going on, without pressure or expectation.
Sessions are available online via Microsoft Teams or in-person, depending on what suits you best.
In our work together, we will take time to understand your experiences, including any patterns around substance use, behaviour, anxiety, or mood. We will explore what feels difficult, what may be maintaining these patterns, and what you would like to be different.
My approach is collaborative and paced around you. Some people come wanting to make immediate changes, while others need space to think things through more gradually. Both are valid, and we can work in a way that feels right for you.
I draw on motivational interviewing and evidence-based approaches to support you in building motivation, increasing self-awareness, and making changes that feel realistic and sustainable.
Sessions are 50 minutes and provide a consistent, confidential space to reflect, explore, and move towards change over time.
You don’t need to have a clear plan or goal before starting. We can begin with wherever you are and take things step by step.
My first session
I offer a free 20-minute introductory call, which gives us an opportunity to talk about what’s bringing you to therapy and what you’re looking for. It’s also a chance for you to get a sense of how I work and whether it feels like a good fit, with no pressure to continue.
If you decide to go ahead, the first full session is 50 minutes and focuses on understanding your current situation in more detail. We may explore what’s been going on for you, what feels most important to address, and what you would like to be different.
We can also begin to think about what you would like to get from therapy, although this can develop over time, and we will go at a pace that feels right for you.
