About me and my therapy practice

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward, I offer a warm, supportive, and confidential space where you can begin to talk openly about what you’re experiencing. Whether you’re facing anxiety, low mood, relationship challenges, addictive behaviours, or a general sense that life isn’t how you’d like it to be, therapy can help you understand what’s going on and regain a sense of clarity and balance.

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and non‑judgmental. Together, we’ll explore your thoughts and feelings, understand unhelpful patterns, and work towards meaningful and sustainable change at a pace that feels right for you. Many clients come to therapy at moments of uncertainty or transition, looking to strengthen confidence, improve relationships, or develop more helpful coping strategies.

Alongside this, I bring over 20 years of experience in NHS addiction and health services. I am a Registered Mental Health Nurse and qualified addictions counsellor, holding a Postgraduate Diploma in Addiction Psychology & Counselling and an MSc in Clinical & Public Health Aspects of Addiction. This combination of therapeutic training and long-standing clinical experience allows me to offer safe, evidence‑based support grounded in a deep understanding of emotional well-being.

Practice description

In my practice, I offer a calm, supportive, and non‑judgmental environment where you can talk openly and without pressure. People seek therapy with me for many reasons — anxiety, depression, relationship issues, stress, addictive behaviours, feeling overwhelmed, or wanting to make sense of a difficult period in life. Whatever brings you here, we work together with curiosity and compassion to help you understand yourself more clearly and move towards the changes you want to make.

Therapy with me is collaborative and tailored to your individual needs. I draw on a range of evidence‑based approaches to help you explore your thoughts, emotions, and patterns, and to develop healthier ways of coping. At times, I may suggest activities between sessions to support your progress, always at a pace that feels manageable and respectful of where you are.

I offer both online and face‑to‑face sessions. Online therapy offers flexibility and comfort, while in‑person sessions may be preferable if you value a more direct, relational space. Whichever format you choose, I ask that you’re able to join from a quiet, confidential environment where you can feel safe and fully supported during our 50‑minute sessions.

My first session

Your first session is free and gives us the opportunity to get to know each other and understand what has brought you to therapy. It’s a relaxed, supportive space where you can talk about your concerns, ask questions, and get a sense of how I work. There is no obligation to continue — the aim is simply to see whether working together feels like a good fit.

During this session, we’ll explore your hopes, challenges, and what you might like to focus on in future sessions. I’ll guide the conversation gently and at your pace, ensuring you feel heard and understood.

If we decide to continue, we’ll arrange weekly sessions at a time that suits you, and I’ll send a clear Client–Counsellor Agreement so you know exactly what to expect as we begin our work together.
