About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Sue. Thank you for looking at my profile today.
I offer a warm, safe space in my private practice in Southsea. I also work online.
I am here to listen without judgment, to work with you to make sense of what troubles you. The world we live in can throw many curved balls at us, be it anxiety, grief, depression, or addiction, to name just a few.
Sometimes, we need to allow ourselves the time and space to reflect on what this means to our lives. Together, we will go gently at your pace to make sense of what may seem and feel just too much for your heart and mind to carry right now. I will work with you to bring about change, clarity, and direction.
I have had the privilege of working with many clients over the years, each of whom has had a unique life-changing event or set of circumstances that brings them to therapy. I say unique because each of us can carry our past into our present life, and that can have a fundamental influence on how we see and experience our world today.
In addition to working in my private practice, I have volunteered previously at a bereavement charity and currently at a neonatal bereavement service.
I appreciate that it's so important to find a counsellor with whom you feel comfortable and who understands you. I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation call (with no obligation to book a session) so that we can discuss what you initially hope to achieve through working together. This will also allow you to ask any questions about counselling and how I work.
Practice description
I offer short-term and long-term counselling. Initially, these sessions are usually held weekly for a minimum period of six weeks. However, as we progress through your counselling journey together, you may find that you are comfortable attending, for example, twice a month.
Sessions are £70 and last 50 minutes.
Payment is required 48 hours before your appointment.
Sometimes life gets in the way and cancellations can’t be avoided, but I would kindly ask that you contact me at least 48 hours in advance to do so. Generally, cancellations made after this time will incur a full charge.
My first session
In the first session, we will take a brief moment at the beginning to review the paperwork, which I will send to you via email before the session. This will need to be completed in the first session only.
In the rest of the session, we will start to get to know each other and focus on what brought you to counselling.
Sessions last 50 minutes.
