About me and my therapy practice
Welcome to my practice. I’m Gillian, a qualified Psychodynamic therapist. This means that I'm interested in getting to the root of the problem, rather than just a quick fix. I believe that therapy takes time and done properly it should be work, but very rewarding work. This is why sessions with me are open-ended and we go at your pace. I'm not looking to fix you or your problems, but rather to look at why these ingrained behaviours are there in the first place.
I have particular interest in helping with past trauma/childhood issues or if you find yourself stuck in an abusive relationship (both physical and emotional). I am also passionate about helping navigate relationship issues - whether with your parents, partner, friendships or the most important one that you have - with yourself.

Practice description
Whether or not you are facing issues with work, family, your relationships or life is generally feeling overwhelming, counselling with me can be beneficial.
I offer a moment of calm in an often hectic life, where we can explore anything that comes to mind. No problem is too big or too small and I'm not here to judge you.
With my help, the aim is for you to be able to talk freely about anything that comes to mind, including current difficulties and issues, fears, desires, dreams and fantasies.
After an initial consultation, we would meet for 50mins at the same time each week during which time we will explore anything that you choose and work collaboratively.
My quiet and comfortable consulting room can be found in leafy Sevenoaks with ample free parking.
My first session
Before we begin working together, we will have an initial consultation.
This will give me a better understand of you as a person and your reasons for attending therapy. It also gives you an opportunity to see if you would like to work with me – it’s a two-way relationship and it’s important that we are a good fit for one another.
Additionally, I’m more than happy to have a free 10min phone call, if you would find this helpful so that you can explain to me the issues that you are bringing and to find out if I might be someone you want to work with.
