About me and my therapy practice
Do you struggle to say no to others and put yourself first? Do you want to discover who YOU are and not who everyone else needs you to be? Are you lacking the confidence to move forward in your life? Is doubt, anxiety, low mood holding you back?
I support adults with:
People pleasing
Confidence and Self-worth
Managing boundaries
Finding your own voice
Recovering from abusive relationships
Establishing and maintaining healthy relationships
I work at a pace that feels safe and manageable, and I welcome people who may feel nervous about starting therapy or unsure what to expect. You don’t need to have the right words or a clear goal — we can begin wherever you are.
I offer a calm, supportive space for adults who feel anxious, overwhelmed or depressed, even if they appear to be coping well on the outside. You may be struggling with low self-esteem, difficulties in relationships, or the emotional impact of past experiences that still feel present in your day-to-day life.
Many people come to therapy because something doesn’t feel quite right, even if they can’t yet put it into words. You might notice familiar patterns repeating, feel unsure of yourself, or carry a sense of unease that doesn’t seem to have a clear cause.
As a psychodynamic counsellor, I work by gently helping you make sense of your experiences — past and present — in a way that feels thoughtful and compassionate. Over time, this can support lasting change, helping you feel more grounded, more confident in relationships, and more connected to yourself.
My practice is bound by and adheres to the BACP code of ethics and professionalism.
Practice description
I trained with The Counselling Foundation, where I undertook a robust programme of study that included clinical placements, regular supervision, and mandatory personal therapy as part of my professional development.
I have extensive experience of supporting people to manage overwhelming emotions, make sense of their experiences, and reconnect with their own voice and feelings in a noisy world. Through this work, I have helped people develop a deeper understanding of themselves, recognise patterns in their relationships and behaviour, and feel more able to navigate life with greater clarity, confidence and self-awareness.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within its ethical framework and professional standards, including confidentiality, regular supervision and ongoing professional development.
I run my private practice from a safe, comfortable room in Hertford town centre. I offer an initial free 15 minute telephone consultation to enable us to discuss what you're looking for in therapy and timings and cost. We will then arrange a first session at a mutually convenient time.
My first session
Your first session with me will look a lot like every other session apart from I will ask you some questions about yourself, to establish where you are now and what you want from therapy. In this session, we will deicide if we are the right fit for your therapy journey.
