About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist, and a Registered Counsellor with the Association of Christians in Counselling (ACC), offering counselling in Guildford, Surrey, and online.
I believe seeking counselling is a courageous first step, and my aim is to provide a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you feel heard, accepted and understood. My approach is person-centred, humanistic and integrative, tailoring therapy to your individual needs rather than expecting you to fit a particular model. Alongside person-centred counselling, I draw on evidence-informed approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), where appropriate.
I work with adults, young people, parents, carers and families experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, stress, burnout and life transitions.
I have a particular interest in supporting people with autism and ADHD, together with parents and carers navigating the emotional and practical challenges of family life. Alongside my professional training, I bring lived experience as the parent of a son with additional needs, giving me a deep understanding of the resilience, advocacy and emotional demands many families experience.
In addition to my BA (Hons) in Counselling, I have completed further professional training in Counselling Children and Young People, enabling me to work with young people within my areas of competence. I am committed to ongoing professional development, regular clinical supervision and working within the BACP Ethical Framework.
For those who wish to integrate their faith into therapy, I also offer Christian counselling, while warmly welcoming clients of all faiths and none.
Sessions last 50 minutes and cost £70. I offer both short-term and longer-term counselling, depending on your individual needs and goals.
Practice description
I work with adults, young people (within my areas of competence), parents, carers and families experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement, stress, burnout, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, obsessive thoughts, OCD, phobias, work-related concerns, health-related issues and life transitions.
I have a particular interest in supporting people with autism and ADHD, together with parents and carers who may be experiencing the emotional and practical demands of caring responsibilities.
My practice is primarily person-centred and humanistic, drawing on an integrative approach to meet each client's individual needs. Where appropriate, I incorporate evidence-informed approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Systemic thinking and creative therapeutic techniques.
I offer both short-term and longer-term counselling, depending on your individual needs and therapeutic goals.
My first session
I offer a free 20 minute online or face to face consultation, giving you the opportunity to ask questions, discuss your needs and decide whether I am the right counsellor for you. There is no obligation to continue.
If you choose to book, our first session will explore what has brought you to counselling, what you hope to achieve and how we can work together. I will also explain confidentiality and answer any questions you may have.
My aim is to provide a warm, safe and non-judgemental environment where you feel comfortable taking the first step towards positive change.
