About me and my therapy practice
I work as a person-centered integrative counsellor, offering a compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. I believe that each person’s experience is unique, and I aim to build a trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, respected, and supported.
My approach is primarily person-centered, meaning I place great importance on empathy, acceptance, and understanding. Alongside this, I draw on integrative counselling approaches to adapt the work to your individual needs. This allows me to support you in a way that feels most helpful and meaningful for you.
I have experience working in the NHS for over 5 years supporting individuals experiencing grief, loss, and trauma, anxiety and low mood. These experiences can feel overwhelming and isolating, and counselling can provide a space to gently process emotions, explore difficult experiences, and begin to make sense of what has happened. I work at a pace that feels safe for you, recognising the importance of sensitivity and care when working with trauma and loss.
My aim is to support you in developing greater self-awareness, resilience, and understanding of your experiences, helping you find your own way forward.
I work within the ethical framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and engage in regular supervision and ongoing professional development to ensure safe and ethical practice.
My first session
What your first session would look like....
Once you have made contact, we would have a chat over the phone to work through what you want from counselling. The assessment and maybe goal setting stage.
If you still comfortable to go ahead with a counselling session we will then book a time and date that works well.
Our first session will let you explore what you want to bring to counselling, I may also give you some educational information about, anxiety, trauma, grief to help you understand body reactions and emotional reactions.
If you feel comfortable enough to book another sessions, we would re book you in. You have the power to navigate the sessions into the areas you want to explore at your own pace.
I offer over the phone sessions, online and face to face.
