About me and my therapy practice

I am a person-centred and IFS (Internal Family Systems) practitioner, offering both face-to-face and online sessions. At the heart of my work is creating a calm, grounded space where you can bring whatever you’re carrying – whether that’s confusion, sadness, overwhelm, or simply the sense that something needs to change.

My intention is to meet you exactly as you are, with genuine openness, curiosity and warmth, so you feel truly heard and understood. I hold a deep respect for your lived experience and your inner wisdom. From this foundation we can build a trusting therapeutic relationship where you can explore your inner world without judgment or pressure. I believe this relationship is the key for meaningful change.

My approach combines the person-centred philosophy - that you are the expert in your own life - with the gentle depth of Internal Family Systems (IFS). IFS is a compassionate yet powerful approach that helps you connect with different “parts” of yourself - perhaps the anxious part, the overwhelmed part, or the part that feels not good enough. Many of us try to silence or push away these parts, but in IFS we meet them with curiosity and compassion. This often brings a sense of relief, understanding and inner harmony.

You may be coming to therapy because you feel stuck or overwhelmed, perhaps burdened by anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief or a challenging life event. Or you may be seeking clarity, confidence, and a deeper sense of who you are. Whatever brings you here, I will offer a steady, compassionate presence as we navigate your thoughts, sensations and emotions together - always at a pace that feels safe for you.

I believe everyone has an inherent capacity for growth and self-healing. By supporting you to connect with your strengths, understand your internal world, and develop a kinder relationship with yourself, I hope to help you move forward feeling more grounded, confident and empowered in your own life.

Practice description

How I Work

My therapy practice combines two approaches: Person-Centred Counselling and Internal Family Systems (IFS), which together create a gentle, collaborative way of exploring your inner world.

Person-Centred Approach

This approach is rooted in the belief that you are the expert in your own life. My role is not to judge, push, or direct you, but to offer warmth, empathy and genuine understanding so you can feel safe enough to explore what’s going on for you. When you are truly heard and accepted, change can begin to unfold naturally.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

IFS is a deeply compassionate approach that recognises we all have different “parts” within us - like the self-critical part, the protective part, the part that acts out in anger or the part that feels lost. These parts often carry emotions or beliefs from difficult experiences, and they may appear in conflict with each other. IFS allows us to welcome these parts with curiosity and kindness, helping us understand why they show up and what they need. Reconnecting with a sense of balance and self-compassion, we can develop a stronger sense of self and more clarity about our needs and emotions. Through this process, we can begin to soften inner conflict, relieve emotional burdens and develop a calmer inner world.

Together

Using these approaches together means you are always in control of the pace and direction of the work. Therapy becomes a space where all parts of you are welcome, where you can reconnect with your strengths, and where healing can happen in a way that feels safe, empowering and authentic.

My first session

I offer a free 30-minute initial meeting so we can get a sense of whether we feel like a good fit.

This can take place online or in person, and it’s simply an opportunity for you to meet me, ask questions, and see whether the space I offer feels supportive.

There’s no expectation to share anything deeply personal. You’re welcome to talk about what brings you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, or anything you’d like to understand about my approach. I may ask a few gentle questions to get a sense of what you need, but there is no assessment or pressure.

Because I work in a person-centred and IFS (Internal Family Systems) way, I pay close attention to your pace and what feels safe for you. If it feels helpful, we can reflect together on any “parts” of you that may be showing up - perhaps a nervous part, a hopeful part, or a part unsure about starting therapy. All of these parts are welcome, and there is no pressure to go deeper than you choose.

By the end of the meeting, we can talk about whether you’d like to move into full sessions, how often you might like to meet, and anything you need from me to feel supported going forward. There is absolutely no obligation to continue: the aim is simply comfort, clarity and choice.
