I am currently welcoming new couples and individual clients.
I offer integrative, relational and depth-oriented therapy, helping individuals and couples develop a deeper understanding of themselves, their relationships and the patterns that shape their lives.
Couples and relationship therapy
I work with couples experiencing recurring conflict, communication difficulties, emotional distance, loss of intimacy, differences in sexual desire or difficulties rebuilding trust.
My approach goes beyond simply learning communication techniques. Together, we explore the emotional and relational patterns beneath your difficulties, how each partner experiences the relationship, and how earlier experiences, expectations and vulnerabilities may influence your interactions.
The aim is to develop greater mutual understanding, more constructive ways of relating, and opportunities to rebuild connection, intimacy and trust where possible. I also welcome conversations about sexuality, pleasure and sexual communication.
Individual therapy
I work with people who want to explore their emotional lives, childhood experiences, identity and relationships in greater depth.
This may include anxiety, low self-worth, people-pleasing, difficult family relationships, boundaries, shame, self-criticism or longstanding patterns that leave you feeling stuck.
Rather than focusing only on symptoms, we explore how these patterns developed and how you might find greater freedom, confidence and choice.
My approach is thoughtful, collaborative and grounded in a supportive therapeutic relationship, combining deeper exploration with practical tools where helpful.
Fees
Couples therapy: £90 (60 minutes)
Individual therapy: £65 (55 minutes)
I offer a free introductory call to explore your needs and whether we might work well together. Therapy is generally ongoing, with weekly sessions available.
About me and my therapy practice
I offer integrative, relational and depth-oriented therapy for individuals and couples. My approach is grounded in person-centred principles and informed by developmental, attachment, Jungian and systemic perspectives.
I am particularly interested in how our early experiences and relationships shape our emotional lives, sense of identity and ways of relating to others. Many patterns we struggle with as adults began as understandable ways of adapting to our circumstances. Over time, these can become so familiar that we no longer recognise how they influence our choices, relationships and sense of self.
I see therapy as an opportunity not only to work through difficulties, but to develop a deeper understanding of yourself, your emotional responses and the possibilities for change.
My work is exploratory and collaborative rather than formulaic. I draw on psychological understanding, reflection, imagery and practical approaches where helpful, always remaining attentive to your individual experience.
In couples therapy, I am interested in understanding the different emotional worlds each partner brings into the relationship, how misunderstandings and recurring patterns develop, and what may help create greater understanding, connection and intimacy.
I bring warmth, curiosity and thoughtful reflection to my work, alongside gentle challenge when appropriate. I value creating a relationship in which you can feel understood and explore difficult experiences honestly.
I particularly enjoy working with people who are curious about themselves and want to understand their experiences and relationships more deeply. You don't need to have all the answers, but a willingness to reflect, explore and engage with the process is an important part of our work together.
Practice description
I work primarily online, offering a confidential, welcoming space for individual and couples therapy. Sessions are generally weekly, with the approach and duration of therapy shaped around your needs.
**Individual therapy**
Our work begins with understanding what has brought you to therapy and what you would like to explore. We may look at current difficulties alongside earlier experiences, family relationships, emotional patterns and beliefs you have developed about yourself.
Sessions are conversational and collaborative. I may offer questions, reflections or alternative perspectives to help you recognise connections that have previously been difficult to see. Where useful, we can explore imagery, emotional and bodily awareness, and practical ways of developing boundaries, self-understanding and emotional resilience.
**Couples therapy**
I help couples explore recurring patterns of conflict, emotional distance, trust, communication and intimacy, including sexual and relationship difficulties.
We look at how each partner experiences the relationship, what happens emotionally during difficult interactions, and how earlier experiences and expectations may influence these patterns.
My couples work is particularly suited to partners who are both willing to participate, reflect on their own responses and explore different ways of relating. The aim is not to establish who is right or wrong, but to develop greater mutual understanding and opportunities for change.
**What to expect**
My approach is flexible rather than based on a fixed programme. I offer thoughtful, respectful and down-to-earth therapy, with space for both deeper exploration and practical change.
My practice is primarily suited to ongoing therapeutic work rather than immediate crisis intervention. Where there are concerns about abuse, coercive control or safety, I carefully consider whether specialist support or a different therapeutic approach may be more appropriate.
My first session
Before beginning therapy, I offer a free 20-minute introductory phone or video call. This is an opportunity to talk briefly about what brings you to therapy, ask any questions about how I work, and explore whether we might be a good fit.
For couples, this is also an opportunity for both partners to briefly share what they're hoping to gain from therapy and consider whether my approach feels right for them.
If we decide to go ahead, I'll send you a therapy agreement covering confidentiality, boundaries, fees and practical arrangements, and we'll agree a regular session time.
Sessions are 60 minutes and usually take place weekly via Zoom. Limited in-person appointments may be available by arrangement. For online sessions, I recommend finding a private, uninterrupted space where you can speak comfortably and openly.
The first full session is an opportunity for us to begin exploring your experiences, what has brought you to therapy and what you would like to work towards. There is no expectation that you arrive knowing exactly what to say or having everything worked out.
My approach is collaborative and flexible, and we'll review how the work is progressing as we go along.
