Availability
I currently have availability to take on new clients - both individuals and couples.
Please get in touch to discuss sessions or ask any questions. I know how daunting it can be to reach out for support, and how frustrating it is when enquiries go unanswered. I always endeavour to respond to every enquiry as quickly as possible, so you won’t be left waiting.
About me and my therapy practice
I’m Kate, and I offer a space for individuals and couples who feel ready to pause, reflect, and reconnect with themselves or each other.
Life can feel heavy at times - stuckness, overwhelm, tension in relationships, or a sense that something isn’t quite right. You may not know what you need yet, and that’s okay. In therapy, we’ll slow things down and gently make sense of your thoughts, feelings and experiences together.
My style is warm, relational and steady. I offer a space without judgement or pressure, where your story can unfold at its own pace. Together, we’ll explore what’s happening beneath the surface, understand old patterns, and uncover the possibilities for change and healing.
Like many people I work with, I’ve experienced chapters of life that felt messy, uncertain or heavy. Counselling and coaching helped me make meaning of those times, reconnect with myself, and create a life that felt more aligned. This lived experience is one of the reasons I sit in the therapist’s chair now — to offer others the same steady, compassionate support that made such a difference to me.
I often work with people at crossroads — new parenthood, separation or repair, loss, career transition, identity changes and moments where life feels unfamiliar. These shifts can feel disruptive, painful, or disorientating, and support can make all the difference.
Alongside counselling, I bring a background in leadership development, coaching and programme design. I draw on this experience in a gentle and personalised way, offering practical tools, reflective frameworks and grounded strategies that can help turn insight into everyday shifts in thinking, relating and living.
I also design and share practical resources, toolkits and psychoeducation materials to support insight and self-understanding both inside and outside of sessions.
Practice description
Life doesn’t come with a guidebook, and even the strongest, most capable people can find themselves feeling stuck, overwhelmed or unsure of who they are anymore. For some, this shows up as stress, anxiety, self-doubt or relationship tensions. For others, the struggle feels deeper, shaped by grief, old patterns or painful experiences that are hard to shift. You don’t need to be in crisis to seek support; therapy can be a space to take off the mask, catch your breath, and move towards ease, clarity and connection.
My approach is integrative, compassionate and practical. I draw from person-centered therapy (PCT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), transactional analysis (TA) and Imago Relationship Therapy, blending them in ways that best support you as an individual or a couple.
For individuals, person-centered therapy offers space to feel heard and understood. CBT helps notice unhelpful patterns of thought and behaviour. TA explores how past experiences shape present relationships and choices. Together, these approaches support insight, healing and meaningful change.
For couples, I often draw on Imago alongside other models. Imago offers a structured and compassionate way of moving from frustration or defensiveness into understanding, safety and reconnection. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach, so I adapt to your needs - whether you’re feeling distant, stuck in conflict, or rebuilding trust after painful moments or transitions.
Therapy can be online or in person, short- or longer-term. I also offer walking therapy for those who prefer the steadying presence of nature. People come to me with anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, grief, identity questions, relationship challenges, burnout, or simply a desire to feel more like themselves again.
Individual sessions are £60 (55 minutes). Couples work is usually £120 for 90 minutes, often fortnightly; shorter 60-minute sessions are £90. Coaching packages are also available - please get in touch for details.
My first session
Taking the first step into therapy can feel daunting, and it’s completely normal to feel uncertain or nervous. To make it easier, I offer a free 30-minute phone chat so we can connect, answer any questions, and see if working together feels right for you.
Your first full session is a gentle introduction. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, explore what matters most to you right now, and think about what you hope to get from the process. We’ll also cover practical aspects, like boundaries and how we’ll work together, so you feel clear and safe.
I know from experience that therapy works best when the relationship feels safe and supportive. Different people connect with different therapists and approaches at different points in life. A big part of this journey is finding a space where you can be open and honest, including with feelings you may not have allowed in before. I aim to offer that grounded, non-judgemental space.
There’s no expectation beyond this session. It’s important that you feel comfortable, supported, and ready to explore at your own pace. Therapy is about finding a space where you can be heard, understood, and free to explore thoughts and feelings you may not have allowed yourself to before.
