About me and my therapy practice
Anxious? Depressed? Maybe you feel like an imposter at work, or like a failing parent? Or are you struggling with a relationship?
Starting counselling can be daunting, especially when you might be lacking in confidence or motivation. If you decide I'm the right counsellor for you, I'll work alongside you to explore and untangle your thoughts and feelings, to help you better understand and accept yourself.
I approach my client relationships with warmth and empathy, without judgement but with honesty. I believe it is these qualities that lay the foundation for building a strong and trusting connection between client and counsellor, and this is ultimately the key to finding the process helpful!
Practice description
I have a Diploma in Person Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I have experience in both short-term and long-term work, with adults aged 18 and above.
Sessions last 1 hour / £55 per hour.
I work both in-person or online using Zoom.
I will provide a confidential space for us to explore what is bringing you to counselling.
Sessions can be weekly or fortnightly - to suit your needs.
My first session
The first session can feel intimidating - but it is simply an opportunity for us to meet and see if you would like me as your counsellor.
I will explain how I work, especially around confidentiality, safeguarding, and boundaries and answer any questions you might have about counselling.
I will then invite you to share what is bringing you to counselling. You can share as much or as little as feels comfortable during this session - it is entirely up to you and there are no expectations.
At the end of our session, it is you who will decide if you would like to organise another, and we can take it from there.
