About me and my therapy practice
My approach is rooted in your wellbeing. I’m committed to helping you explore your motivations, aspirations, and desires. I take a collaborative and supportive approach to help you explore and understand your feelings and thoughts, so we may discuss things like your past, future goals, present situation, and culture. Counselling holds a space for internal process and exploration since a better knowledge of oneself and the world contributes to a healthier mental state.
Who are you? Who do you want to be? Where is your place in your community and the world? What can you do? Let's explore these together.
Qualifications and Experience:
I hold a Diploma in Integrative Counselling, an MA in Psychoanalytic Studies, and an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Theology. I recently completed a Diploma in Diversity, Cultural Competence, Race, and Anti-discrimination Practice. I have gained valuable experience working at NHS Lambeth Talking Therapies and currently serve as a visiting lecturer at Goldsmiths University, London. I have been practicing as a counsellor since 2023. I am also a member of the Black, African, Asian Therapy Network.
Practice description
I take an integrative approach, drawing from a range of therapies such as solution-focused, psychodynamic, and existential. My practice is also shaped by critical psychology, socialist values, and Buddhist principles. Most importantly, I adapt my approach to honour each client’s unique worldview, experiences, and needs. My first session
In our first counselling session, my focus is creating a safe, welcoming space where you feel comfortable being yourself. I’ll explain how counselling works, what to expect from our sessions, and how confidentiality is handled, so you feel secure from the start.
We’ll spend time getting to know you and exploring what brought you to counselling—your current concerns, what’s been weighing on you, and what you hope to gain. I take a collaborative, non-judgmental approach, listening closely and asking thoughtful questions to help identify key themes that matter to you.
By the end of the session, my goal is for you to feel heard, understood, and clearer about how we can work together to support your growth and wellbeing.
