About me and my therapy practice

If we work together, I will aim to be fully present with you, to be curious with you, and to be alongside you as you find your way forward. I believe the therapeutic process can help us gain insight into our feelings and experiences, and deepen self-compassion. With greater self-compassion, we can better regulate and cope with difficult emotions, finding a path towards emotional safety and well-being.

As an integrative counsellor, I will tailor sessions to meet your needs by drawing on techniques and understanding from various therapeutic approaches. Integration has another meaning for me: that of becoming whole - becoming more of who we truly are, and discovering our potential.

“To round itself out, life calls not for perfection but for completeness...” Carl Jung

My counselling practice is grounded in 25 years of experience working and undergoing training in the field of mental health and social care.

It may be helpful for you to explore painful or traumatic memories, thoughts, or experiences that continue to affect your life. I believe it's important that this is done at your own pace. Together, we can attend to how you're feeling as we go, and I can offer techniques to reduce overwhelm and help you feel more grounded.

If it feels helpful to you, we can use creative approaches, such as art materials, images or a selection of small objects and figures. This can help explore and represent aspects of your self or your experience.

Your life might be affected by discrimination, inequality, or not being accepted for who you are. I offer a space where these experiences can be explored, aiming to set aside assumptions and truly hear you.

Therapy is a place to address what has gone wrong, but it is also a space for discovery and development. I’m interested in what gives your life meaning – whether that is what you believe in or have faith in, your background or community, who you love and connect with, what inspires you, and what makes you who you are.

Practice description

It’s important you find the right therapist for you and I offer a free 30-minute introductory session online so you can decide whether you would like us to work together.

I offer short or long term therapy depending on your needs. I suggest reviewing our work together at regular intervals to discuss how your process is going and what you need from therapy.

My first session

In our first session, it’s important for me to get to know a little about you - what brings you to therapy, what’s going well in your life, and what might feel difficult or in need of change. This is your space, and you're welcome to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.

If it feels helpful, we can also start to explore any goals you may have for therapy, whether that’s finding ways to cope, gaining insight, or working toward specific changes.
