About me and my therapy practice

As an integrative counsellor, I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can speak openly and feel genuinely heard. I understand that reaching out for support can feel daunting, and I aim to create a therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy and respect.

I work collaboratively with clients, recognising that every individual’s experiences, challenges and goals are unique. My approach is integrative, meaning I draw from different therapeutic models and techniques to tailor therapy to your specific needs, rather than taking a “one size fits all” approach. This may include elements of person-centred therapy, psychodynamic thinking, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), solution-focused approaches and mindfulness-based techniques where appropriate.

I support adults and young people with a range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress, bereavement, trauma, relationship difficulties, identity issues, emotional regulation and cultural or faith-related challenges. I also understand the impact that life experiences, family dynamics and social pressures can have on emotional wellbeing.

My aim is not only to help you manage current difficulties, but also to support deeper self-awareness, personal growth and long-term emotional resilience. I believe therapy should feel safe, empowering and paced according to your comfort level.

I value cultural sensitivity and strive to provide an inclusive space where clients from diverse backgrounds feel understood and respected. I recognise the importance of culture, faith, identity and lived experience within the therapeutic process.

Whether you are seeking short-term support for a specific issue or longer-term therapy for deeper exploration, I will work alongside you at a pace that feels right for you.

Practice description

I provide integrative counselling and psychotherapy for adults and young people in a safe, confidential and supportive environment. My practice is centred around building a strong therapeutic relationship where clients feel listened to, understood and accepted without judgement.

I work with clients experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, trauma, bereavement, relationship challenges, identity issues and emotional overwhelm. I also have an interest in supporting clients navigating cultural, faith-related and family pressures, recognising the importance of understanding each person within the context of their lived experiences.

My approach is integrative and tailored to the individual needs of each client. I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches including person-centred therapy, CBT-informed techniques, psychodynamic understanding and solution-focused approaches. This allows me to adapt the therapeutic process to best support each client’s goals, circumstances and preferred way of working.

I offer both short-term and long-term therapy, depending on the client’s needs. Sessions are collaborative, compassionate and paced according to the client’s comfort level. My aim is to help clients gain greater self-awareness, develop healthier coping strategies and work towards meaningful and lasting change.

I am committed to providing an inclusive and culturally sensitive practice where diversity, identity and individuality are respected and valued.

My first session

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship. I understand that starting therapy can feel unfamiliar or nerve-racking, so I aim to create a calm, welcoming and non-judgemental space where you can feel comfortable speaking openly at your own pace.

During the initial session, we will explore what has brought you to therapy, the difficulties you may be experiencing and what you hope to gain from counselling. I may ask questions about your background, current circumstances, relationships, emotional wellbeing and any previous experiences of therapy to help me better understand your needs and how I can support you effectively.

The first session is also a chance for you to ask any questions you may have about the therapeutic process, how I work and what ongoing sessions may look like. We will discuss confidentiality, boundaries and practical aspects of therapy, including session structure and frequency.

There is no pressure to share everything immediately. Therapy is a process, and we will work at a pace that feels comfortable and manageable for you. My aim is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood and clearer about how therapy may support you moving forward.
