About me and my therapy practice
Sometimes therapy can feel like endless soul-searching without much direction. My style of work focuses on understanding the root of the issue both in the present and in the past, and exploring practical solutions to reduce the problem at hand. This can include cognitive, somatic and relational work among other strategies.
I work with a variety of clients and the best way to know if we will work well together is to have a first session. However these are some examples of issues I work with regularly:
- chronic illness eg ME/CFS
- (un)diagnosed neurodiversity eg ASD, ADHD
- coming out as LGBTQ+ later in life
- feeling stuck in a relationship, or navigating the end of a relationship
- challenging family relationships eg parent/child issues
I aim to work inclusively. I work online and offer regular weekly appointments . I am a member of the BACP; I adhere to their ethical standards and can assure confidentiality. If you would like to have a free introductory 10-15 minute chat to decide if we might work well together please email me at miriam@theraps.co.uk.
