About me and my therapy practice
Looking for a counsellor can feel daunting, especially if you’re already feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or carrying a sense of loss. Taking this step is a brave and hopeful move, even if you’re unsure where to begin.
I am an experienced integrative counsellor and many of my clients tell me they value my warm, calm, and empathic approach. I offer a supportive, non-judgemental space where you can slow things down, feel heard, and begin to make sense of what you’re going through. My aim is to help you understand yourself more deeply, reconnect with your inner strengths, and find ways forward that feel manageable and authentic to you.
I am a BACP registered Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, as well as a qualified NLP Master Practitioner and NCH Clinical Hypnotherapist. My work is informed by over 20 years of experience supporting people through emotional and life challenges, alongside ongoing professional development, voluntary work, and my own lived experience. I specialise in two main areas:
Anxiety: Finding Calm and Building Confidence
Anxiety can affect your thoughts, emotions, body, and sense of self. You may feel constantly on edge, caught in cycles of worry, or lacking confidence in yourself or your decisions. I work with:
• General Anxiety
• Health Anxiety
• Confidence and self-belief
While we can’t always control what happens in life, we can work towards changing how anxiety impacts you, helping you feel calmer, more grounded, and more confident in yourself.
Bereavement and Loss: Compassionate Support Through Change
Loss can take many forms and does not always follow a clear or predictable path. I support clients experiencing:
• Complex grief
• Anticipatory grief
• Life changes and non-death losses
Whether you are grieving the death of someone important to you, anticipating an upcoming loss, or struggling with the emotional impact of significant life changes, counselling can help.
Practice description
As an Integrative Counsellor, I tailor our work to you as an individual, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model.
In our sessions, we may:
• Explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe, supportive environment
• Reflect on experiences that may be influencing your present difficulties
• Identify practical tools and strategies to support change
• Build self-awareness, emotional resilience, and confidence
You may be new to counselling or returning after previous therapy. Either way, I aim to offer a steady, collaborative relationship where you feel supported and understood as we work together.
My first session
A strong, trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of effective counselling. To support this, I offer a free 15-minute initial chemistry session, giving us both the opportunity to see whether we feel comfortable working together.
In your first full session, we will take time to establish a sense of safety and trust before gently exploring what has brought you to counselling and what you hope to gain. At the end of this session, and at each session moving forward, I will check in with you to ensure our work continues to feel helpful and aligned with your needs.
If you’re wondering whether counselling could help, you don’t need to have everything figured out. You’re very welcome to get in touch to explore whether working together feels right for you.
