About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified creative psychotherapist, registered with the BACP. I take a person centred creative approach to therapy, meaning I'll give you the space to lead the sessions with what you feel is important to bring and explore. I will offer suggestions of processing things through talking or creatively through mark making or movement and using metaphors. I have experience in helping clients with stress, anxiety, family conflicts, coping with grief, coping with loss, motivation, self esteem, & confidence. I also have experience working with coping with life changes and trauma. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. In our first session I will gather a sense on what you want to work on and will tailor our sessions to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started and look forward to working with you!
Practice description
Professional experience - 3 yrs in practice
I have experience both with children aged 5-17 years and adults.
Within my work with adults I have experience supporting people with a wide range of struggles and will offer a supportive safe environment online in order to help you feel held and heard.
Within my work with young people, I deliver counselling to both primary and secondary school aged pupils within the school setting and online, working with a range of issues including anxiety, trauma, domestic abuse, neglect, family conflict.
I am experienced at working with young people and adults with ASD and ADHD related struggles including anxiety related to sensory processing, feeling over-stimulated in the classroom environment, struggling with social interactions affecting friendships, pace of processing and understanding instructions, understanding social cues, feeling different to others, understanding their diagnosis and how this impacts them daily.
My first session
I offer a free 30 minute introductory session to explore with yourself what you'd like to get from therapy and for you to see if you feel we will work well together.
The first full session will involve myself asking a number of questions to get a sense of the struggles and issues you are facing and what you might want help with. I may ask you to complete an assessment questionnaire and discuss with you any therapeutic goals you may have.
