About me and my therapy practice

About Me

I offer a space to talk about the parts of yourself that feel difficult to understand, manage, or make sense of.

You may find that your emotions feel intense or overwhelming at times, or that relationships can quickly become complicated wanting closeness, yet feeling hurt, misunderstood, or shut out. You might notice patterns such as overthinking, pulling away, people-pleasing, anger, or feeling numb and disconnected. Often, these are not random, but ways you have learned to cope, protect yourself, or survive.

As a Black therapist from the Caribbean, I understand how culture, identity, and silence shape the way we carry pain. Many people I work with have not always had the space to speak openly about what they feel. In our work together, you won’t have to code-switch, explain your background, or filter your truth. At the same time, I work with people from a wide range of cultures and experiences, holding an openness to understand your world as you live it.

At the heart of my work is creating a space where you can be seen more fully where patterns can be understood, and where something new can begin to emerge, at your own pace.

Practice description

How I work

I bring over ten years’ experience of working in London prisons, supporting men and women navigating anger, shame, loss, and self-destructive patterns. This has given me a grounded understanding of how people adapt to survive difficult environments, and how those adaptations can continue to shape life and relationships long after.

Alongside this, I have spent over six years working with Cruse Bereavement Support, supporting people through grief in its many forms including the loss of loved ones, identity, relationships, and stability. This work continues to inform how I sit with pain, without rushing or trying to fix it.

My approach is relational and integrative. I pay attention not only to what you say, but to what happens between us in the moment how you relate, protect yourself, reach out, or hold back. Together, we begin to make sense of these patterns with curiosity rather than judgement.

For the parts of you that feel too much, not enough, or hard to understand...

Alongside talking, I may gently introduce creative or reflective ways of working, especially when things are hard to put into words. This could include imagery, simple exercises, or moments of slowing things down so you can connect more deeply with what you are feeling. Creativity is something I value both in my work and in my life, as it often allows expression where words fall short.

About me and my therapy practice

Couples often come to me feeling stuck in the same painful cycle.

You may find yourselves arguing about the same things, shutting down, walking on eggshells, or feeling like you’re no longer really reaching each other. Underneath this, there is usually something deeper hurt, fear, frustration, or a sense of not being seen or valued.

As a Black therapist from the Caribbean, I understand how culture, identity, and silence shape the way we carry pain and how we show up in relationships. In our work together, you won’t have to code-switch, explain your background, or filter your truth.

I offer a space where both of you can be heard without blame, without taking sides. But I will also gently challenge the patterns that keep you stuck.

Together, we slow things down and look at what happens in the moment between you, how one of you might pursue while the other withdraws, how small moments escalate, or how disconnection builds over time.

Practice description

Even if things feel far gone, we can start from where you are

My approach is relational and integrative. I draw on person-centred and psychodynamic thinking, but more importantly, I focus on helping you understand:

  • what gets triggered between you
  • where those patterns come from
  • and how to begin responding differently

I am comfortable working with conflict, emotional intensity, and the things that are often hard to say out loud. Where helpful, I may introduce reflective or creative exercises to support awareness and emotional regulation. The aim isn’t to decide who is right or wrong but to help you understand each other in a way that actually creates change.

My first session

Our first session is a starting point where I will get to know you both and understand what has brought you to therapy. We will begin to explore your relationship at a pace that feels safe, with space for each of you to feel heard.
