About me and my therapy practice
My practice is Integrative, which means I don’t believe in a ‘one-size-fits-all’ solution. Instead, I combine different therapeutic techniques—such as Person-Centered, Psychodynamic, CBT and IEMT elements—to fit your unique history and goals.
Healing from trauma requires more than just a listening ear; it requires a therapist who deeply understands the complex dynamics of power, control, and recovery. I am an Integrative Therapist with extensive experience and specialist knowledge in the field of domestic abuse, working with both those who have been harmed and those who have caused harm.
How I Work
Because no two experiences of trauma are the same, I use an Integrative approach. This means I draw from different therapeutic modalities to tailor our sessions to your specific needs. Whether we are stabilising your current wellbeing or processing deep-rooted trauma, my practice is informed by a robust understanding of the psychological impact of abuse.
Practice description
Life can be unpredictable and, at times, overwhelming. Whether you are navigating a specific crisis, feeling weighed down by the past, or simply feeling "stuck," I offer a professional, empathetic, and flexible space to help you find your way back to yourself.
While I hold vast experience and specialist knowledge in working with the complexities of domestic abuse and trauma—supporting both those who have suffered harm and those seeking to change harmful behaviors—my practice is equally dedicated to helping individuals manage the broad spectrum of human emotion and struggle.
An Integrative Approach to Your Wellbeing
I work using an Integrative approach, which means I don't believe in a "one-size-fits-all" solution. I draw from various therapeutic modalities to ensure the support you receive is tailored specifically to you and your needs.
I believe that therapy should be a collaborative partnership. My approach is rooted in empathy, compassion, and deep understanding, ensuring you feel safe to explore your thoughts without fear of judgment.
You Set the Pace: Sessions are entirely dependent upon you—how you want them, when you want them, and what you feel ready to discuss.
Setting Goals & Changing Direction: We will work together to establish what you hope to achieve.
Psychodynamic Education: A key part of my work involves incorporating psycho-education. By understanding the "why" behind your reactions—how your past experiences and subconscious patterns influence your present—we can establish the profound internal change needed for long-term recovery.
My first session
The first time we meet is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and ensure you feel comfortable in the therapeutic space. This initial session lasts for a full 60 minutes, allowing us ample time to speak without feeling rushed.
