About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m Paul. I’m so glad you’re here.

Do any of these feel the feel familiar?

Do you feel as if your life has fallen apart and you’re anxious about what comes next?

Do you feel lost, heartbroken, sad, scared and completely alone.

Do you feel in shock, numb or empty inside?

Are you struggling to accept that they’re gone and don’t know how you’ll cope without them?

Do you feel anger or guilt and find yourself going over the why and what ifs

Do you feel okay one minute but floored by a wave of emotion the next?

Do you find yourself crying constantly or are you unable to cry at all?

Counselling can provide:

An opportunity to talk about thoughts and feelings you don’t feel able to share with anyone else – without blame, pressure of the fear of upsetting those closest to you.

Validation of your thoughts, feelings and experience.

Support to make sense of your thoughts and feelings.

Support in shifting the focus of your loss, letting go of painful memories and allowing room for the positive ones.

Support to help you to forgive yourself, releasing yourself from feelings of guilt or anger

A space to learn how to be kinder to yourself and to give yourself permission to feel moments of relief or joy

Help in finding a way to live within your “new normal”

Learning to grow your life around your grief — finding a way forward without feeling as though you’re leaving your loved one behind.

About Me

My path into counselling is shaped by real life — growing up in a working‑class family, losing my dad young, facing relationship breakdowns, work stress, serious illness and major surgery. I know what it’s like to feel frightened, overwhelmed and unsure where to turn. Those experiences taught me how important it is to have someone beside you when life feels too heavy, and that’s why I do this work today: to offer a warm, understanding space where you feel heard, supported and never judge.

Practice description

How I work

My approach is person‑centred, which means our sessions are led by you. When you are going through a difficult time, it can feel hard to find the right words — or any words at all — so you’re welcome to share as much or as little as feels comfortable. We’ll go at a pace that feels right for you.

I offer a calm, supportive space where you can talk openly about your loss without judgement or pressure to “be strong” or “move on”. Together, we can explore the thoughts, feelings and questions that come with loss, notice any patterns that might be keeping you stuck, and gently make sense of what you’re going through. Over time, this can help find ways to cope with the day to day reality of life after loss and help you to adjust to your “new normal”.

About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m Paul.

Do you constantly feel like you're not good enough—no matter how hard you try?

Do you find yourself saying “it’s my fault” even when deep down, you know it isn’t?

Are you tired of pretending you're okay when even the smallest daily tasks feel overwhelming? Does this sound familiar?

That's okay, having struggled with my own mental health, I totally understand where you’re coming from. The good news is it doesn’t have to be this way. I can help.

Imagine, if you could feel like a success instead of a failure, if you could believe that your voice matters, if you could feel proud of yourself, just as you are.

I will offer a warm, supportive space where you can explore your experiences, thoughts and emotions at your own pace, helping you to feel heard and understood. Together, we’ll look at how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours are connected, creating a better understanding of why you are feeling the way you are and what you need to change to move forwards.

Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you. It’s about helping you see that you were never broken to begin with. You deserve to feel at peace with who you are. You deserve to feel enough.

If you’re tired of feeling this way, then I’m here to help. Contact me today to book a free no pressure 15-minute online consultation and take the first step towards a better, happier life.

My approach is person‑centred, which simply means that you lead the way. Your pace, your experiences, your needs. I’m here to offer a calm, supportive space where you can talk openly about whatever you’re going through without judgement— whether that’s anxiety, grief, addiction, low self‑esteem, depression, or the impact of major life changes.

I won’t give you quick fixes or instructions. Instead, I’ll sit with you, listen carefully, and help you explore what’s really going on beneath the surface. Together, we can look at patterns that might be causing you pain — things like self‑doubt, worry, old coping strategies, or unresolved loss — and gently make sense of them. Through careful listening, reflection, and gentle challenge, I aim to help you understand yourself more clearly.

As we explore the patterns in how you think, feel, and respond, you may begin to make sense of your experiences and discover new ways of relating to yourself and the difficulties you’re facing. As we work together, my aim is to help you build a deeper understanding of yourself, feel supported enough to explore difficult feelings and empowered enough to make choices about anything you would like to change to move towards a life that feels more fulfilling.

I’m fully qualified, insured, hold an enhanced DBS, and bring both professional training and real‑life experience to the work we do together

About me and my therapy practice

I'm Paul, a counsellor based in Manchester, where I live with my partner and our two rabbit “fur babies.”

Having reached midlife, I’ve experienced my share of challenges growing up in a working‑class family, losing my dad young, navigating relationship breakdowns, facing work pressures, and surviving both cancer and a quadruple heart bypass. I know what it’s like to feel helpless, scared and alone.

These experiences led me to train as a counsellor so I could offer others the understanding I needed during my own hardest moments. They shape the caring, compassionate way I work today.

Face to Face

I offer face-to-face counselling from my welcoming rooms in Prestwich, Whitefield, Radcliffe and Bolton with flexible appointment times to suit your schedule.

Choosing in-person therapy can offer a deeper sense of connection and many people find that being in the same room can make it easier to open up, build trust and engage more fully in the therapeutic process.

Online

I offer online therapy sessions for people who may not live nearby or who simply prefer the comfort and convenience of having counselling from their own home. Online sessions can make therapy more accessible and easier to fit around work, family, or other commitments.

Wherever you choose to join from, whether that’s your sofa, a quiet room, or somewhere you feel comfortable, I aim to provide the same supportive, professional space as I would in person.

Small Businesses

I work with local small businesses to provide counselling for employees who are experiencing stress, anxiety, grief, depression and major life changes, - without the long waiting lists often faced when seeking NHS support.

Unlike costly and impersonal Employee Assistance Programmes, I provide a personal and flexible service which operates on a pay-as-you-go-bas

Ready to take the first step?

I know reaching out for help can feel like a big step and it's completely normal to have questions. If you're considering counselling and want to know more, I'm happy to talk things through and answer any questions you have.

I offer a free 15 minute online consultation so we can get a sense of whether we're the right fit. If you decide I'm not, that's absolutely fine - what matters most is that you find the support that feels right for you.
