Integrative Somatic, Trauma-Informed Therapist | Solution Focused Brief Therapy

Life has its challenges, and there are times when emotions, memories, or circumstances can start to feel overwhelming. You might be experiencing anxiety, depression, or difficult emotions that impact your relationships, work, or sense of self. Whatever brings you here, you deserve to be supported and heard.

I offer a warm, compassionate, and confidential space where you can explore your emotions, share your story, and make sense of the challenges you’re facing. My integrative, somatic, and trauma-informed approach blends gentle body awareness with talking therapy to help you reconnect with yourself and find calm within.

I support clients through life transitions, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, grief, stress, burnout, and neurodiversity (including ADHD). Together, we work on regulating the nervous system and developing tools to manage emotions—empowering you to feel grounded, confident, and in control.

My background includes counselling young people (16+) and a decade as a massage therapist supporting clients with chronic pain, illness, and cancer therapies—experience that deepened my understanding of the mind-body connection.

Practice description

Therapy can be open-ended for those wanting to explore themselves more deeply, or short-term and solution-focused (6–12 sessions) for those seeking direction and clarity. I also work with professionals experiencing stress and burnout through an Employee Assistance Programme.

I use approaches such as The Rewind Technique, Flash Technique, Mindfulness, Breathwork, and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).

Clients often describe me as relatable, calm, and honest. I meet you where you are, offering therapy that feels personal and adaptable—whether through talking, creative work, or gentle movement. Reaching out is a brave first step, and I’ll walk alongside you as you rediscover your sense of peace and possibility.

My first session

Before your first session, I’ll ask you to complete a brief client assessment to help me understand a little about you. In our first meeting, I’ll ask a few gentle questions to gain a sense of your needs, goals, and what feels most important right now. This session is relaxed and collaborative — a chance for us to get to know each other, explore what brings you to therapy, and decide together how we can best work towards the changes you’re seeking.

About me and my therapy practice

I’m Victoria, a BACP-registered integrative somatic therapist. I work with adults who feel overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally stuck, or disconnected from themselves — often shaped by long-standing stress, difficult relationships, or past experiences that still linger in the body and nervous system.

My approach is calm, grounded, and trauma-informed. I believe therapy should feel steady and collaborative, not rushed or overwhelming. Many of the people I work with have spent a long time “pushing through,” holding things together, or putting others first. Therapy offers a space where you don’t have to do that anymore.

I work integratively, meaning I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on what feels most supportive for you. Alongside talking therapy, I include somatic (body-based) awareness, helping you notice how emotions, stress, and past experiences show up physically. This can be particularly helpful if you feel stuck in your head, overwhelmed by emotions, or find it hard to relax or feel safe.

My practice is rooted in respect, compassion, and curiosity. I don’t see you as broken or needing to be “fixed.” Instead, I view symptoms like anxiety, shutdown, or emotional reactivity as understandable responses to what you’ve lived through. Therapy becomes a place to understand those responses and gently create more choice and ease.

I currently offer sessions online and in person, working with adults from a wide range of backgrounds.

Practice description

I work at your pace. Therapy with me is not about forcing insight or reliving experiences before you’re ready. We start with what feels manageable and build from there.

Sessions usually involve a combination of talking and gentle somatic awareness. This might include noticing sensations in the body, exploring emotional responses, or slowing things down when life feels too intense. Everything is optional — you’re always in control of what we focus on.

I pay close attention to safety and regulation. If something feels overwhelming, we pause, ground, and adjust. Therapy should feel supportive, not destabilising.

Depending on your needs, our work may include:

Talking therapy to explore your experiences, relationships, and patterns

Somatic awareness to understand how stress and emotions live in the body

Trauma-informed pacing, so change happens steadily rather than abruptly

Practical tools to support emotional regulation and nervous system balance

Space to reflect on past experiences and how they connect to the present

I see therapy as a collaborative process. You’re the expert on your own experience; my role is to offer support, perspective, and guidance.

My first session

The first session is a chance for us to get a sense of each other and begin understanding what brings you to therapy.

We’ll talk about what’s been happening for you, what you’re hoping for from therapy, and any concerns or questions you may have. There’s no expectation to share everything at once — you’re in control of the pace.

I’ll also explain how I work, discuss confidentiality and boundaries, and answer any practical questions. If it feels helpful, we may begin gently exploring what’s going on for you, but the first session is primarily about creating safety and clarity.

By the end of the session, we can decide together whether working together feels like a good fit and discuss next steps. Some people feel a sense of relief after the first session; others simply feel clearer about where they are. Both are completely valid.
