About me and my therapy practice

You may know what you want to change or you might just feel stuck, lonely, depressed, anxious or something else hard to define. I am compassionate and interested in what brings you here, and I'm skilled and qualified in helping you get what you want.

At the core of my approach are empathy, an acceptance of you and your past, and my own authenticity.  While my psychotherapeutic training underpins and informs my practice, my focus is on your experience, both as you express it and as I understand it from my own experience working with you.

Crucial to successful therapy is our shared understanding of what you want to achieve - and what to work on, and for how long, is determined by you.  You may be clear about what you want to change, or you may know only that something's not quite right.  Coming to understand how you are now is itself key to knowing how you want to be different.

While some problems can be successfully addressed merely by expanding our self-awareness, deeper issues may be resolved through the experience of the therapeutic relationship.  I work both short-term and long-term, with either a cognitive focus, or more relationally as appropriate.

Practice description

I offer weekly fifty-minute sessions for individuals, working in person, in the centre of Salisbury.

Please see my website for more information about how I work, my qualifications and training, my Privacy Notice and my Terms, which describe my policies regarding fees, cancellation, confidentiality and so on.

My first session

I offer an initial fifty-minute assessment, in person, for £30.  This is not only for me to understand what you're looking for, and assess whether I can help you, but equally as important an opportunity for you to assess me: to see whether you feel comfortable working with me, to ask any questions you may have, and to gauge yourself whether I can help you make the changes you're seeking.

Attending an assessment in no way commits you to working with me.
